From the moment we checked in at the Magic Castle we were treated like very special family members. Ashley offered to help us with our luggage and showed us to our room, all the while answering our many questions we had about the area.
The room was clean and inviting. The mattress was not one of the typical cheapo's..this one we wanted to bring home with us!
The general manager, Darren Ross, suggested restaurant choices for us. We chose the Yamashiro restaurant which is a part of the Hotel. We were driven to the restaurant by the complimentary shuttle van. Upon our arrival we were given a table for two that overlooked the city of Los Angeles...arranged by Darren. We felt VERY spoiled!! The food was prepared perfectly..We had the Filet Mignon which we could cut with our forks! Darren dropped by during dinner to see if everthing was satisfactory and we said yes, but the next time we stayed at the Hotel we would request a room with a balcony. Within seconds Darren was on his phone to the front desk and secured a balcony suite for our next two nights with them.
We know where we will stay the next time we are in the Hollywood area. Service like this is rare these days!! The staff, Nick, Jason, Gretchen and everyone gets our "Two thumbs up" recommendation!

Stayed in the hotel for 2 nights on 16 day touring holiday in california.

Hotel was well located 5 mins walk from holiday bouv. (which was very dissapointing, tacky and full of hawkers) Room were clean and huge. Staff though were not very freindly, we asked about changing travelers check and mentioned we should try and find a bank, but could'nt tell us where the nearest one was.

Also not a hotel for people with a problem with stairs, we had to go up and down six filghts to get to our room which was only on the second floor.

I had chosen to stay at The Magic Castle based on the many positive reviews I'd read on this site.

I enjoyed a wonderful room, a super comfortable bed, and a delicious breakfast. The setting was cheerful and pretty. The staff kind and helpful. I would definately stay there again and highly recommend in to all!

I stayed at the Magic Castle Hotel on business a few days ago and couldn’t believe the level of service at this little hotel. They surprised me with a free popsicle while I was sitting out by the pool!!! I mean come on!!! Every hour or so someone from the front desk would come out and offer free popsicles. I’ve never seen anything like this….but it was great. All the guests were talking about it and were extremely happy. I had wireless internet in my room and out by the pool and they don’t charge for it which is a refreshing change.

I had a new one-bedroom suite, apparently they are just about done renovating their rooms. The suite was HUGE! I had my own full kitchen, huge living room and nice size bedroom. I had a DVD Player in the room and they don’t charge to borrow from their DVD library. Everywhere I turned, there was a staff member greeting me by name. Even the turndown attendant knew my name! Oh yeah…each night they came to turn down my bed and refresh my towels. The robes in the room are a very nice touch!!! There were a lot off people wearing them during breakfast (which is very good by the way). My company is going to start booking more with the Magic Castle Hotel. It’s the best around. Thank you to the entire staff!

The only negative is that the continental breakfast closes at 9am on weekdays. BUT….when I told the front desk agent that I was surprised by this….he, without any hesitation, went to the kitchen and brought out hot coffee, a variety of delicious pastries, a selection of cereal, and juice. This level of service is rare and I truly appreciated it.

My new husband and I stayed two night, we were given a room right at the back of the hotel we entered by a security gate which we were given the code for. It was a two story building which went in rows like prison blocks, very unattractive. The room was ok lovely view over hollywood, large bed. the room was large with a microwave and fridge . The carpet had seen better days and the noise as people went up and down the steps was annoying. The staff were ok and breakfast was plentyfull as long as you got there early as there were not many tables.
The main downfall was having to get the car to go down to the front, when we would have preferd to have parked the car for our stay. we paid with the tax on $181 a night which I thought was very expensive for what we got. If we get to go to America again I will not be staying at the Magic castle
We did a fly drive and Magic Castle was by far the dearest hotel we stayed and worst value for money..
