All of the reviews we read before we left were true. This hotel had a great location; down the street from Chinese Theatre, Kodak Theatre and subway link to universal studios. It was also a short drive to beverly hills, sunset blvd, century city and Farmers Market. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating and rooms were clean. If staying in LA again we would definitely stay at this hotel.

We stayed two nights at the Magic Castle. The staff was incredible!! They were so helpful and pleasant. The continental breakfast was awesome.
We had a small room which was nice and had Tangerine Bath Bloomers lotions and shampoos. There had very noisy guests in the next room. The soundproofing was not so good however the staff compensated for our restless night.
The hotel is in the best spot for walking to the Graumann's Chinese Theater and Kodak theater, walk of fame, etc. The metro is very close and you can go to Universal Studios with one stop.
The Yamashiro Restaurant is so great and someone will drive you up from the hotel and pick you up when you're done. Look for celebrities at the restaurant and check out the awesome view.

Very nice and helpful staff. A charming and magic hotel. The very best recommendation from a satisfied norwegian family of four.

Just came back from a 4 night stay at Magic Castle Hotel - What a great stay! Everything about the hotel starting with my first call to book a room and get info was surprisingly pleasant. I can't say enough good things. Really! We arrived in the rain Feb 22 (umbrellas were provided in the lobby) and were given a first floor 1 bedroom apartment (they remembered that I had my 88 yr old Mom with me and I was travelling with my 11 yr old girl and 15 yr old son (a.k.a." The Bickersons") and needed plenty of room and 2 TV's! The room (really a 1 bedroom apt) was huge with so much storage space we couldn't use all the closets! Yes the apartment was older but ours was clean and everyone was so very nice and helpful that any wear and tear should just be considered "shabby chic".

The breakfast was great. The best croissants ever (Sat AM we had pain au chocolat better than Paris). We had the fortune/misfortune to be in Hollywood for the Oscars. The traffic was horrendous (Hollywood Blvd was blocked off due to security which made driving a challenge but the front desk staff helped me plot different routes to accommodate my mom visiting relatives by car.

Most importantly for me as a woman travelling alone with kids and elderly person I felt very safe and completely at ease at this little gem of a hotel.

Others have said it many times before but you just cannot beat the location of this hotel. It is close to all the touristy things and so easy to catch tours around town or do the funky museums around Hollywood Blvd. The Hollywood/Highland complex has lots of eating places and there are loads of places to go within walking distance. I am not sure if the staff reads these reports but a special thank you to Shawn at the front desk, I hope they pay you well because you really are an asset to Magic Castle!

I could go on and on but I do want to say Thank you TripAdvisor because the Magic Castle really made our trip enjoyable and I really would never have picked it out randomly without all the great truthful reports.
