Nice location with only a few minutes walk to Hollywood Boulevard. Minor breakfast included.

We took our daughter to Hollywood/LA for her 16th birthday on October 16! After making the hotel reservation with Gretchen, she mentioned the hotel would do 'something' for her birthday, too! I was really surprised and impressed when I got a phone call and email from Mary Jane asking what they could do to make our trip extra special and my daughter's birthday especially memorable. I told Mary Jane a few things about our daughter, and when we got to our room, our daughter couldn't believe her eyes!! There were balloons, sparkling soda, sixteen candles on a beautfully decorated chocolate cake, personalized greeting card in her favorite color with a picture of the Jonas Brothers on the front AND a JONAS BROTHERS CANVAS TOTE BAG! WOW!!! We were very pleasantly surprised, and after an 8-hour road trip, it got us pumped and ready to go, again. Our daughter always talked about her trip to New York, but this Hollywood/LA trip beats all (and, she is a hard to please teenager!!!!). And, thanks Mary Jane for greeting us at the front desk when you heard us check-in and for bringing us a refreshing glass of 'lemon sprtiz.' It felt like like you were waiting on family to come in and visit. And, thanks, Jeffrey, (the really nice bell captain) for helping us get around so easily. On our last day at the hotel, we left with a 'goodie bag' from the front desk minibar and munched on our snacks all the way home while talking about what a special trip we had.and how great everyone was to us at the Magic Castle......Thanks So Much!!!!!! We arrived early and our room wasn't ready, but the friendly staff offered us breakfast, stored our bags, and told us what interesting sights were nearby -- in the middle of Hollywood, so it wasn't hard to kill a couple of hours. When we returned they had upgraded us to a suite, and it was wonderful - roomy, cool (the temp went up to 95 one day, but we were comfortable) and clean. The free snacks and free WiFi were a very nice touch, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We'd stay here again in a flash.

The Magic Castle is an excellent hotel, particularly well suited to families, just a few minutes walk from Hollywood Boulevard, Chinese Theatre, Walk of Fame etc. The suites are very large - plenty of room for families. However, they are quite old - the bathroom and kitchen fittings are particular dated, so if you are looking for a modern luxury hotel, this might not be for you. But even so, this hotel offers fantastic value with excellent service in a great location with lots of nice touches. On arrival, you are given a glass of lemonade and there is a turndown service with chocolates left on your pillow. But best of all is the free mini-bar. Unlimited soft drinks and candy all day. It really is free. At the prices usually charged for cola, this is a big money saver. The continental breakfast is very nice, and there is a good pool. The staff are excellent - they will help you will anything you ask them.
