After countless hours of reading reviews on Trip Advisor, I felt that I couldn't go past what sounded like an amazing hotel. Despite being told by a relative who has lived in LA that the area was 'dodgy' I'm so glad I didn't listen to them, and decided to stay here. We stayed for 5 nights in September for the first leg of our trip, and it more than met my expectations in so many ways. Upon arrival, we all (even my two daughters aged 5 and 8) were greeted with a very welcome, cool drink in cute 'champagne' glasses - nice touch. I had been quite ill on the flight over, and I was hoping for an easy check in, but unfortunately my travel agent had not booked extra nights that I had asked for, and as such we were not booked in for the first 3 nights of our 5 night booking. I was horrified, and was sure that this would be a big problem, but Gabby handled the situation with grace and immediately upgraded us to room 204, which was a 1 bedroom suite on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the pool area.
Yes - there are no evelators, but so what!!! The whole 'Melrose Place' feel with the pool in the centre was amazing, and the kids (and I) thoroughly enjoyed the seemingly endless supply of free snacks - great value. Within 2 minutes of us getting to our room, Zee arrived with some honey and chamomile tea to 'sooth my stomach' which was greatly appreciated!! The lending of the train tickets, the friendly smiles from ALL staff, the brilliant location - all of this added up to a fabulous stay, which also lead to tears from my girls when we had to leave (even though reception provided us with a shopping bag full of snacks for us for our trip to Vegas in the car).
Another highlight was when I left some washing in the washing machine whilst we went out, we came back to beautifully folded and hung up clothing. What hotel does that??? Everyone we dealt with was outstanding, the room was a huge one bedroom apartment, and had everything we could ask for, including a large fully size kitchen. It was so nice to finally meet Darren the hotel manager, and he also lived up to all expectations, as he seemed genuinely interested in me and my family, and always took the time to chat to all the guests.
Thank you all for making our stay truly memorable, and I have recommended you to so many people as our stay was absolutely the highlight of our trip. There was nothing I would change about our stay, as every little detail was taken care of, and it was a brilliant start to our trip - thanks to all/
