“Convenient location, perfect for our needs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

We booked a one-room suite to accommodate our grown son and the two of us. The set up worked perfectly for us. We were able to grab a late dinner at their restaurant--basic fare which was fine. Breakfast buffet was typical but plenty to choose from and enough seating for everyone there. The best thing about this hotel is the close proximity to LAX. As others have said, it's old, but it was clean and very acceptable. Perfect for what we needed.

I stayed overnight as I had an early morning connection. Hotel is clean but very old.
Average no major problems. Adequate for a quick stay - there are no good places to eat
close by. I do not eat fast food so I was pretty much out of luck.

We wanted a hotel near the airport after a long journey from Europe. We wanted a simple, clean place to spend the night. The Room was not large, but large enough.

WIFI functioned and the shower had excellent water pressure. Furniture a little worn and carpets slightly stained but acceptable.have no idea about surrounding amenities since we just wanted to sleep..

Breakfast had the usual carbs plus scrambled eggs, yogurt and fruit.

La Quinta was perfectly adequate, neither wonderful or terrible, a typical, average hotel for the price.

I checked into the hotel on jan 11, 2014. I am planning to stay until jan 15. I have a reservation for 2 rooms: my friends and me, with three people in each room. There was only one set of towels in each room. I called the front desk and they promised to bring towels to both rooms but they only brought it to one room. When we came back later in the evening and wanted to take the shower, we found out that there was only on micro-bottle of shampoo (22ml) for the three people staying in the room. There was no shower gel and no shower cap. I called to the front desk, again. They were a bit rude and started arguing with me. The other room still didnt have any towels... Only after u came downstairs and talked to the desk staff, they supplied the other room with more towels and shampoo. The air conditioner is also very uncomfortable. It is loud and noisy, but withiut the room gets super stuffy. The elevator to the parking garage does not work either.

We took the free shuttle from LAX. You need to call the hotel directly for the shuttle. We were lucky as it was just arriving. This was in November. We also booked a time to return to the airport the next day. The driver was on time waiting. The room was quiet and in the back on the first floor which is actually level 2. The bed was comfortable and room very clean with high ceilings. The furniture was modern with a microwave and small ref. The staff was helpful. I used the exercise room and was alone. The equipment was in good shape and had the basic stuff. There was a breakfast. Again the typical breakfast stuff. Be sure to know when breakfast is over as they close up on the dot. There was more food more food than we needed. It did include some hot selections.

In some of the reviews, people mentioned the area looked unsafe. It is in an older part of LA and near a busy road. It looked more like a industrial part of town. The hotel did not have a pool or restaurant. That is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. They do have a nice delivery menu in the rooms with different restaurants which looked good. If I stayed there again, that is what I would do. Also, some light stuff like microwave soups, popcorn, soft drinks, etc could be purchased in the lobby. Across the street there was a convenient store but we didn't use it. Instead we took a cab with another couple we met on the shuttle to a restaurant. About a mile away there were several places to eat. We wouldn't walk there because it was dark and road very busy. We never felt unsafe.

This is a newer hotel that just opened in 2013. It had a computer and printer in the lobby. I never had problems using it as it was always vacant. Guess everyone had their own computer. There is free wifi. I would recommend this hotel unless you want a pool and restaurant. The price was great.

Room Tip: Ask for one away from the road.

Very convenient to airport.
Rooms were very quiet, even with location to airport.
They do charge $15 a day to park, which I think is a racquet for hotels to do, but the elevator in the garage was out, so they did not charge us. SCORE!
Had a very nice free breakfast...scrambled eggs, waffle, cereal, toast, donuts, yougurt, fruit, juice and coffee.
The staff at the front desk was very nice.
