“Comfortable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

We only stayed for the one day, but it was worth it. We flew in from the UK and stayed here to save having a long drive after an eleven hour flight. The service is excellent and the staff are friendly. The room was clean and generously proportioned. I was a little surprised to see that there wasn't a separate shower in the bathroom, but the one fitted in the bath worked well enough. We had a room on floor 12 overlooking the airport and although the aircraft could be heard taking off, they weren't too intrusive and we did sleep okay. Well, that is, until we had a 3.9 level tremor that shook the whole building at just after 4 in the morning! I doubt that this was the early morning call we had asked for!

We had breakfast in the cafe, as the evening meal we'd had in the bistro the night before was nothing to write home about. Breakfast, however, was totally different and worth paying for the full deal. The choice was good, the hot food was definitely hot and the fruit was fresh. What more can you ask? Service was buffet style, where you help yourself to as much as you can eat. Coffee and fruit juices were continuously topped up by the staff, who were extremely courteous and professional. It was a real pleasure to have them working for us, which is becoming ever more rare these days.

Overall, we would recommend a stay here, especially if like us, you have time to break up a long flight from an onward journey.

One minor tip... Wi-Fi is chargeable in the rooms. However, it's free in the lobby! Get my drift...?

Room Tip: Higher floors are further away from the function rooms.

I use this hotel before flying off to Australia or when coming over to the USA.
They are very accommodating with early check in, since flights arrive at 6:30am! I find it really a good place for solo travellers, especially women.
Staff are friendly and very helpful and the breakfast buffet is great!

Room Tip: some of the 4th floor rooms are super quiet!

We decided to stay the last night of our family vacation here to be near the airport. We wanted to be out at the beaches during the day and then come back and shower to get ready for the flight home. I was able to get a late checkout until 6pm for $50. Late checkout until 4pm was $25. I liked the Peter Thomas Roth amenities. We had zero noise issues as we had a corner room.
I was excited to learn there was a pool I could get some last minute sun at before boarding the plane. Also have 4 hot tubs/jacuzzis. Literally a block away from all the car rental places. Very very convenient. Only issue was bathroom floor had not been cleaned as we found hairs from previous tenant near shower.
Large bathrooms.

Booked on line as I thought this hotel was close to metro but it isn't - my bad! However, there are regular free shuttles to the Hotel from Lax only taking about 15 mins which is ideal if taking a morning flight as I was. The room was a good size, beds are soft and comfortable, the shower was in the bath but it is a low one so those who are vertically challenged don't need a step ladder to get in. The water pressure was excellent, the shower head good . Plane noise was only audible for some aircraft . You are in walking distance to car rentals and also the Lax bus depot. You can also get the shuttle back to the airport and free shuttle to the green line metro too. I didn't expect to pay for the wifi though ( cheapest option about us$13.00 per 24 hours) and no bar fridge ( unless I was blind). I only had breakfast once - seemed pricey although breakfast options were ok with the usual buffet, etc. staff were friendly. Check-in took about 10 mins and check out was express. Other than that I ate out.

Check in was very quick thanks to Kenny. Our request for late checkout was noted and approved. The room was large and clean. We had 1775 which gave us a great view of LA and the ability to watch the approach on two different runways was a bonus. Room was equipped with small coffee bar, safe, iron/ironing board, robe, extra pillow/blanket and a free standing 1875 Blow Dryer. The bed was very comfortable and side lamps have plug ins on the base. Nice big flat screen TV. The floor we were on was very quiet and no airplane noise.
We ate at Landings which was pricey but the wedge salad and cheese/meat platter were very good. Staff was attentive and friendly. Had breakfast at Adiamo. I had the fruit platter with muffin chips and Greek yogurt, excellent. My husband had the eggs Benedict, it was good but he wasn't a fan of the bread pudding. There is also a breakfast buffet. Again staff was friendly and our coffee cups and juices were refilled regularly.
We will be staying here next Saturday when we return from Sweden. Hope the second experience here is like the first.
The only reason I docked one star was the long wait for the shuttle, if I could I would have just docked it a half star for this.

Nice room. Small bathroom. Was on 17th floor. You cannot open windows so you have to run air conditioning.
Great water pressure.
Overpriced food in coffee shop for just average food.
Parking garage is hard to maneuver and a pain. You must go 4 floors below at least. Add $26 to park car.

The bed was comfortable and A/C worked good. Plenty of hot water at shower head but got only trickle at the sink. Nice coffee maker, but no refrigerator in the room. Our room was small and had low ceiling of 6;5"~7' most part, normal height over the bed. The bathroom light fixture was even lower than doorway opening and had visible damage. People hitting their head obviously. There was no closet in the room. Only a small wardrobe in which only children's or midget's clothing fit. There was no place to hang our coats and dresses. Our room faced airport runways just about where airplanes started take-off rolls and heard engine blasts even middle of nights. The window was not soundproofed at all. We had to be alert not to miss an elevator, because some indicator chimes or lights were not working. Some button numbers in elevators missing. You can deal with it once you realize some numbers are missing. Food at the coffee shop was good but pricy. There is no restaurant between 2PM to 5PM except "Bistro" which is like a Starbucks. There were so many security guards in the lobby area. Crime problems? Parking is another low point. Parking was not only expensive, my Ford Expedition, large SUV, did not fit in the parking garage. They have very low ceilings in their garage. Unless you are attending a convention or a meeting at this hotel, there must be better alternatives in the neighborhood.

Room Tip: North or East facing room but not 3rd, 4th or 5th floor. They can be noisy from the ballroom.
