I have tried every comfort from apartments, condos, and townhouses until I found Hilton Los Angeles Airport to be just "like home". All members are courteous to me and my family when they arrive; I work in Los Angeles, and I head head home on the weekends. I am extremely happy there because of the quick access to freeways, airports and restaurants.

If you are planning to stay at Hilton Los Angeles Airport, be sure to say hi to Ricardo, Rashe, Goksen, and Smiley on the 16th floor, or when you’re checking in ask for Tim, or Kenny. And when you are ready to check-out, ask for assistance with your luggage with Titus, Cyrus, Roland or Ramon

This is a generally nice hotel and very convenient. Parking was easy and check-in was a breeze. The bar in the lobby is a touch expensive but this is LA so you can't expect cheap drinks. We were at the hotel for the weekend to get away. We were able to drive to Malibu on Saturday for a delightful drive along US1. Dinner was a short walk away from the hotel and there are plenty of options close by.

When we returned to our room we discovered that we were missing a glass. It hadn't been replaced by the maid. No worry, we asked for another and that was that. What we didn't notice until the morning was that our bath towels were not replaced. That is also when we discovered coffee wasn't replaced and that there was a used wash cloth in the shower. So obviously the only "cleaning" that was done was a quick make of our bed and nothing else. We called the front desk to get some towels but those took 20 minutes and we were already running behind.

If you like to work out the fitness center is excellent. We were on one of the upper floors so getting an elevator wasn't too tough. However, in the morning during check-out time, if you are on one of the lower floors expect that you might have to wait a minute for an elevator going down that isn't already full.

If the maid service had been better the rating would have been different for sure. But when I can't count on the cleanliness, well, that matters a lot to me.

The hotel is nice and the shuttle ride short. But both times I rode it it was very full--packed with people standing and sitting, to the point that it was a major operation to make way for people to get out at their stops. And some people had to wait for the next shuttle.

When the shuttle arrives at the hotel, there is long line at the check-in counter. And the staff seem to be trained to be friendly and chatty, not to expedite the process when there are lots of people waiting, or to put more staff on the task.

This is not their response to an unusual circumstance--it's their standard mode of operation. They need to increase the number of buses running at peak hours and find a way to deal with the sudden influx of people checking in when the bus arrives.

Hi tuctrohs,

Thanks so much for the review! Glad you liked the hotel, although I'm sorry the shuttle experience wasn't so smooth for you. We generally have three buses running constantly, although we are able to call for an additional bus if needed. As for the check-ins following the shuttle dropoff, we try to have our front desk agents be both friendly and quick. If the line is too long or not moving quick enough, front desk managers are there to help as well. I apologize if your check-in took too long. Hopefully this won't discourage you from staying with us in the future, and if there's anything I can do to help you next time please let me know. Take care.

We stopped over here on the first leg of our around the world holiday. It was really just a day break to split up the flights.

The hotel was clean and, despite being right at the end of the runway, was surprisingly quiet. However, it certainly was not silent, and you could hear the planes taking off. However, the noise level was never too intrusive and did not affect my sleep. However, if you are a light sleeper, it could be an issue.

The hotel is very close to the airport and runs a free and very frequent shuttle bus.

One odd thing happened. In the middle of the night, we were woken up by a tanoy message saying that there was an issue, and that the emergency services were in the building and that we should remain calm. Odd request I thought, since up until that point I had been asleep and could not have been more calm. Thirty seconds later, and halfway putting my trousers on, another message told us that the problem had been resloved. I never did actually find out what the problem was. Odd!

Breakfast was standard Hilton buffet, which is normally good. The hotel has a number of restaurants. We just had a light meal in the sports bar. The staff there were friendly and helpful, and the food was quite enjoyable.

So in summary, overall a good hotel for a stopover or a short break. Rating reflects that use.

Room Tip: Preferably get a room away from the runway.

Hi Blaeu,

Thanks for the great review! Many people have been commenting on how quiet and relaxing their stay was despite the proximity to the airport. As for the odd message you referred to, I do apologize for the disturbance and for interrupting your sleep. It was actually an issue with a smoke detector, but just a false alarm as the message said. Hope we see you soon!

We stayed twice in a week as the hotel is convenient to the airport, served bŷ a shuttle bus and hosts a car hire desk. Should have been perfect and it was a Hilton.
Unfortunately, the TV didn't work, there was no hair dyer, the ac system blew cold air whether on or off. Really quite frustrating...points agreed to by the two engineers who attended.
It took over half an hour to get someone to bring a hair dryer, much to my wife's annoyance.
To be fair, the bar service was great and the food was equally good. The manager did organise a complimentary breakfast and payed a bar bill as well...but we still feel let down

We like the overall Hilton brand and will choose again, but these points do need addressing

Room Tip: The twin rooms appear more spacious but its a small point

Hi bill186383,

Thanks so much for the review! Although I'm sorry you had these issues with your room. I assure you that's not a typical experience here, and we understand that breakfast doesn't change the problems you've already experienced. Hopefully you'll stay with us again, and if you'd like, please let me know of your arrival ahead of time. I'll make sure everything is in working order in your room.

I got this hotel on Hotwire for a steal, and it was a great place to stay before our early flight out of LAX the following morning.
The front desk staff were friendly and informative. We had no issues at all with the shuttle. We arrived downstairs 1/2 an hour before we wanted to leave and one was there within 10 minutes and we were first in line. The doorman loaded all of our bags onto the shuttle for us so we didn't have to.
Yes, you can certainly hear the planes taking off and landing while you are in your room. You're right next to the airport so what do you expect? I popped in my earplugs and was none the wiser.
Our room was very nice, we had a King facing the pool. I wish we could have stayed longer to make better use of the hotel.
Overall, a great stay and I would certainly book it again.
