“Cannot beat location or price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

I stayed 3 nights here to visit family. This is my 2nd time staying at this hotel. I love that it is directly across the street from a major shopping center with markets, restaurants, coffee shops etc. Also numerous restaurants are a block or two in either direction. Room price was decent and included morning breakfast plus microwave and small refrigerator in rooms. Free parking is a us. Room was comfortable, not fancy, but decent.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and have recently booked our next trip to LA again at this hotel. Its a great location in the west part of the San Fernando Valley, easy access to the beach. Its a bit of a commute and you take your chances with the fwy going east but Id rather stay here than any other part of the valley. Also, is located across and beside many dining and groceries and coffee and bagel shops, so thats a great plus for a quick bite before you head out for the day.

Stayed at this hotel for leisure. It is a 2 story building, looks brand new. Lots of great places nearby to walk around to eat or grab some coffee. Would def. stay again. The bathroom is also separate from the sink area which is nice because 2 people can utilize it at the same time. I also believe some of the rooms had patios.

I read the reviews before i stayed at the hotel and thought i would still give it a shot. The hotel is located right of the 101 so it was easy to get any where i wanted to go. My room 238 was very clean, look brand new and had a nice flat screen TV. Everything worked. I had the breakfast at the hotel in the morning. If your looking for Ham and eggs you will not get it but the waffles were really good and they had fresh bananas and a selection of cereals and yogurt. The wifi worked really well in the room. My only complaint is that if the hotel is booked solid and you get back late to your room you may not find parking. My last night at the hotel i managed to get the last spot. I was told next to the hotel was city parking. Yes i would stay at this hotel again. If your looking for the Ritz than stay at the Ritz. If your looking for something clean and affordable then stay here. Also do not go across the street and eat at Jerry's. That place has gone down hill. How do you mess up eggs and oatmeal.

Room Tip: My room 238 was nice

Arranged a last minute one night stay in Los Angeles and found the Best Western. It was clean and very affordable, staff very courteous. Buffet Breakfast was basic but included in the price along with free parking. These were individual rooms based on one up one down each with their own front door, situated in a private well maintained courtyard. The rooms were based on occupancy up to 4 persons and had 2 double beds in the room, with free wifi, tv, microwave and complimentary coffee. Travel into Los Angeles took some time and traffic was heavy! So not ideally located for us.

Staff was very professional & helpful.Grounds were neat and tidy, There was some type of air freshener that was irritating to not good smelling. Had some type of reaction to jacuzzi chemicals with itching. Noise level was a little high. Breakfast was not good. I have stayed at many Best Westerns and had their breakfast. It was basicially all carb related food. Bread, muffin, bagels, pancakes. Only fruit was apples. I had to ask for real butter and the syrup. Only offered on table margarine. They had Nutella, which I love but in the half that I went through, they product was open. Hence, your not going to eat an already product. Able to find two that were not open. I also thought that the price of the room was high for the quality.

Thank you for your review of our hotel. We are undergoing a guestroom renovation to our property, and hope that you will consider us again in the future. We have switched cleansers from aroma based products to Proctor and Gamble's Commercial line of cleaners and fresheners to include Febreze and Tide. We hope these P&G products will make an impact at our property, as it has for millions of Americans in multiple generations.

In respect to our continental breakfast, we do try to use quality name brand products such as Nutella, Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Smuckers, etc. I will contact our food provider to see why the packaging on the individual size portion of Nutella was easily being peeled open.

Carpet was so dirty, it turned my feet black, and left footprints in the tub; the ventilation system blew only cold air, so to warm the room, I had to open the patio door. Without the scented room freshener blowing from the unit you could smell the dirty odor of the carpet. The continental breakfast had stale breads and pastries, and the breakfast area was so small only one person at a time could get into the alcove where the food was. Will not be returning to this hotel, even though the location is perfect for my business needs.

Thank you for your review Paulette. We have taken measures to improve our property. In December 2013, we changed our nationally known cleanser provider to another well-known major commercial and household name, Proctor & Gamble. We have removed air fresheners to instead have the best known non-aerosol odor eliminator, Febreze.

We are also undergoing a room renovation with new carpet, new bedding, new wall covering/paint, new bathroom tile, and new laminate flooring in select rooms. This renovation has already begun, and should be completed in late Spring. We do hope that you will give us another shot when you are in town for business again. Thank you again.
