My friends & I went to LA for a conference for 7 days. As the hotel of our conference was quite expensive per night, we decided to find another hotel nearby.

We chose Holiday Inn Westwood at Santa Monica as the price of the rooms was relatively affordable for us and it provided free parking and breakfast.

When we got there, we were shocked to see that the lift was out of order as our luggages were quite heavy. But, we were greeted by pleasant staff who offered to carry our bags up 3 storeys for us. Usually the rooms that are featured on the hotel's website is diff from what we see in reality. But we were quite impressed that the rooms looked exactly how we saw it from the website! It was very clean and the 2 queen sized beds were big. The room was quite spacious.

It was also very heart warming to see a welcome card with ur name on the bed. They also gave us a small bag of goodies of biscuits & water. We were also impressed that they provided toiletries even makeup remover. And if you happened to forget to bring ur toothbrush /shaver, they were willing to provided free of charge.

Breakfast was simple, egg, bacons, cereal and yoghurt. You can even pack ur breakfast onto a small tray back to the room to have breakfast in bed!

Initally, we had a little problems with the price of the rooms as I had made an advance booking, I thought that it would have been the best rate. However, when it was closer to the date and the day i checked in, I found out that the rooms were much cheaper that the rate i booked online. The manager was nice to offer us the cheaper rate.

I highly recommend this hotel as the staff there are very friendly very approachable and willing to help out in any way. It was a very pleasant stay there and i would definitely go back one day.

Room was clean, comfortable and large. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding in good condition. The room had a larger mini refrigerator but no microwave. Continental breakfast was typical Holiday Inn Express breakfrast which these days includes eggs, bacon or sausage, assorted breads, yogurts, cereals and was very fresh and good. The dining area is outdoors so plan on taking back food to your room if weather is less than ideal, but the area is covered and quite pleasant. The hotel is right next to the 405, but my room was at the opposite end from the freeway so traffic noise was not a problem. Parking is in their underground garage and is free. It seemed to be a fairly safe area for walking around with someone else..there are a couple of artsy/foreign type movie theaters very close that I might try out if I am in the area again. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. The elevator was out of service during my stay, and to compensate for having to use the stairs at 6:00 PM they had a buffet for guests and that night it was pizzas, pasta, salad and sodas from a local italian restaurant. It was very good and there was no reason then to have to go out for dinner. I was there for busniss and overall very pleased and will definitely stay here again in the future if I need to be in the LA area again.

Rooms are Ok...all entries are from outside....free parking....neighborhood not the greatest, but I wasn't in fear for my life....

We stayed here to do a college visit to UCLA. It was a short trip to UCLA. Room was nice, staff was very friendly. Breakfast bar was good with eggs, sausage, bacon, an above average breakfast bar. Parking was just fine. Room was clean, linens nice. They are having some construction and staff wanted to find us a room away from the noise, even though we didn't ask about it.
