Dec 2007 ( sorry for the late review) was me and my partners second time staying at this Hotel. This hotel is by far the best hotel I've stayed in while in the USA. The room was spotless, as was the bathroom, and both were unexpectably huge! The staff were very welcoming and helpful when it came to giving my directions. This hotel is within reach of all major attraction. I loved how close it was to Universal. Even you don't plan on attending Universal Studio's, you can walk to Universal City Walk which has a huge movie theatre, lots and lots of eating places ( both cheap, and moderately priced) as well as plenty of shops. We purchased a two day pass to Universal Studios and loved how we could just walk to the park, then walk back to the hotel for a rest around 3pm, then walk back to Universal around 6pm to finish the day. It made everything worth it. I also went to see The Ellen Degeneres Show, and it was a quick cab ride down to NBC Studios. On day four we left the hotel and walked down to the subway station, about a 10 minute walk, and got off on the NEXT stations and you were right in the middle of The Hollywood Walk Of Fame. I couldn't get over how great the location of the hotel actually was!
The pool and hot tub was amazing! The pool was a little cold, but since we're Canadians, we swam in it anyway. Many Amercians couldn't believe it, and thought we were crazy. Keep in mind I went in December, so I'm sure the pool is much warmed in the summer time.. Although, the BEST TIME to go is December, about two weeks before Christmas. There were no line ups at Universal Studios. I walked right on every single ride.
Just thinking of this hotel puts a smile on my face, and if my budget allows, would like to return this December as well.
Thank you to everyone at the Universal Hilton!
