“Great family property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

Four of us stayed here earlier in the summer on our way to Maui. We spent two nights and love the property! The location is convenient, the rooms were quiet and the pool area was great! We also had breakfast twice in the restaurant and staff was nice. I would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Rooms with the bunk beds have a divider so they are the next best thing to two separate rooms while...

Booked this hotel as part of a British Airways holiday in LA. Found it to be a truly great place to stay. The Reception staff were extremely helpful as were all staff we encountered. he free late check out was gratefully accepted, (2.00pm), as was the availability of the pool and day room to accommodate us until our 4.00pm departure.
The breakfast was superb and happy hour ,3,30 until 6.30 very attractive. Our room was large overlooking the pool with a nice balcony.
The hourly shuttle over to Universal Studios and the Metro was a very useful facility and well used. Overall I would recommend this hotel. It was extremely good value for money and I would definitely use it again.

Stayed here while visiting my son in Hollywood. I was pleasantly surprised by the nice room and the location. It was nice and quiet, immaculate and best yet, had a lovely pool. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Stayed here in november 2012 - I found the place clean, safe and quiet and just want you need after a day in place such as the nearby Universal Studios.

They run a regular shuttle bus to the nearby metro station if you wanted to go into places like hollywood boulevard etc and it also goes to Universal Studios.

Overall I liked the hotel, it was clean, no issues with the staff or the room and would stay again

Hi, what can I say just don t go there. I am not a picky person and knew it would only be an average stay based on cost and for 2 adults and 2 kids we paid $1200 for 5 night excluding food, and in Tulas restaurant the food was good. I checked for three days to make sure the hotel was for us as it was a family holiday and this was at the end of our holiday of 15 days. The hotel is next to an enormous freeway 101, nightmare traffic all night, hotel not soundproofed in rooms adequately so no sleep for us. I actually phoned reception twice from Uk before booking and asked if the hotel was noisy, but they kept this bit a secret, it s next to equivalent of the UK .s M25 .... hairdryers don t work either, and the security doors in our block did not lock so safety was a bit worrying, especially in El Dorado block could be accessed from public. Staff okay, but took them three days to remove nextdoors teenager parties, who had a drum kit etc. We got wow an amazing $51 off our booking for the parking charge for all our inconvenience. DO NOT STAY until they refurbish it, which we were told is going to be all next year. Beverley Garland, and Holiday Inn if you are listening be more honest with your advertising.

Room Tip: Just don t stay, and check it out on google map first.

We arrived on the 4th day of our East/West Coast Journey in America. The check in was quick + we were in our rooms quickly. Our rooms were quite average. The staff were not very helpful but the waiters in the restaurants were extremely helpful. Although the hotel was quite clean it was not that comfortable. I don't think that we would be returning to this hotel.

Dear Emma M,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your comments online. It is nice to know that your check-in went smoothly. However, I regret the inconsistency you found in our staff's service. Your feedback is very important to us as this continually helps us improve the facilities and guest services we offer to our guests.

We would welcome the opportunity to serve you again and make your stay as best as it can be.

Regards,

We picked this Hotel for its location near Universal Studios, we thought it was walking distance, but it wasn't, not their fault. They do have a shuttle service which was very good, left on the hour & picked up at drop off 15 minutes later. This services finishes at 9 pm, normally that would be more than adequate, but this time of year Universal Studios does their Halloween Horror nights which end later in the night. This was the reason we were here, didn't want the hassle of long trips back late at night, so the shuttle running a bit later for special vents would have been perfect for us. That said, the rooms were adequate and clean, would have liked a fridge to keep my milk cold, appreciated being able to make my morning coffee in the room. The place generally looks ready for a make over to get it out of the 50's, but it was clean, tidy and fully functional. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it for proximity to Universal Studios.
