A trip to Far East, I planned a airport stopover in West Cast in both directions. Am I EVER glad i chose this hotel. It is the Oasis you are seeking as a weary traveler. Helpful free airport transfer.. Quick check in. Clean hotel!! Wonderfully comfortable beds and great linens. i slept like a newborn baby! Reasonable price, great Bell men. Oohh and the happy hour is great AND the Wagyu Burger just off the chain! Spend the $$$, that burger is awesome. Thank you Sheraton Gateway for taking care of my creature comforts! There is a perfect reason your hotel ranks tops with Trip Advisor... BTW-- THIS IS A TRUE TRAVELERS REVIEW.. not a gun for hire!!!

We had a great stay at this hotel after we were married. My husband and I had early flights, so we decided to stay here, and we were glad we did. The front desk was fantastic and gave us a free upgrade plus credit towards room service! What an unexpected gift! We will definitely return to this hotel! Plus, it was cool to watch the planes take off and land.

My wife and I are regular visitors top Los Angeles and this hotel is our "regular" first night stop. Why, because simply it ticks all the boxes. From the initial shuttle bus transfer, warm welcome and check in to the very comfortable beds, through to the very good buffet breakfast. All at a very competitive price. I booked direct off the Sheraton website. Additionally if you are renting a car it is a 5 to 10 minute walk to the major rental companies. You can drive back to the hotel, load up and away.

One slight down point this trip: the furniture in the bar area is looking very "tired" and needs replacement. However 5 stars overall for another excellent, albeit brief, stay.

Room Tip: High rooms have a great view of the planes!

This hotel is a great option if you need to stay near the airport. The rooms are adequate and clean. The common areas such as the bar area are spacious and comfortable. However, they are severely lacking in professional customer service. For instance, when asked to explain what type of beers were on tap, he said he didn't know what "that one was but it was a dark beer". Understaffed on a Sunday evening, again the bar area had one cocktail server who we saw once and then never again. Someone appeared (the bar host?) and asked me at the bar if I would like service. I apologized saying that I had not seen anyone in quite some time but this did not sit well with him. He took an attitude and said (twice) that "he had found me" in a rather loud tone. Needless to say, it's too bad that a nice hotel is not instructed on how to deal with customers professionally.

This was an unexpected stay while trying to fly on standby. I booked the room while at the airport, unsure what to expect and was so pleased by the very lovely hotel, room and staff. While asking the concierge for the nearest drugstore as the lobby store was closed for dinner break, he asked what I needed, I said toiletries, he went away and returned with some very necessary items I did not have in my carry on. I returned to the lobby later in the evening and shopped in the great shop that carried wonderful items for stranded travelers. The room was very comfortable, spacious and quite. Just outside of LAX, the free shuttle was a brief ride to the departure terminal.

Pretty good stay overall. Stay didn't start well with having to wait over 30 minutes for the shuttle bus. When checking in, was questioned extensively if I really worked for the company I booked through, even though having business cards. Was again reminded of this with a letter. Kind of surprised to the scrutiny. Lounge was mediocre, charged for drinks and had little hot food. Breakfast in the lounge was also unimpressive. Most Starwood lounges are much better. Room was good size, clean with very comfortable sheets. I would probably stay here again, just be prepared to be questioned if you book with a corporate rate, don't mind waiting for a shuttle, and having a sub-par lounge.

I stayed at this hotel for about 4 months during a project and liked the location near LAX a lot. You couldn't hear the planes, the Starbucks is onsite, they also have a nicer restaurant in side too. The front desk is very friendly, but they do get slammed a lot with business travelers or large groups coming in. Heidi in the SPG lounge afterwork is amazing. She is one of the most friendly and sweetest individuals at the hotel and makes you feel at home after work. I hope she continues to work here and the management realizes how the preferred guests and business travelers really enjoy her service. You can park on site but there is a easy park LAX for 15.75 (all in) per day right next to it. Cabs also hang out at the corner incase you need to get anywhere.
