I was profoundly disappointed in this hotel. I booked four different hotels for my most recent stay in Los Angeles. All hotels were booked through hotwire, but this was the only 4 star. All others were 2 or 3 star. Naturally, I assumed this would be the nicest. Unfortunately, I could not have been more wrong.
Although I wasn't terribly impressed with the amenities of the hotel (there was only one restaurant opened when we got there and it was the most up-scale, when we just wanted an evening snack, the gift shop was not opened at 10PM) the main problem was with the bathtub. It was completely covered in small black spots. At first I thought it was paint spattered on the bottom of the tub, but I rubbed it, and it smeared! It was the consistency of charcoal. Of course, I called the front desk and the immediate response was, "I'm sorry, we don't have any other rooms available." I insisted that housekeeping come up and clean the tub. A nice gentleman came very quickly and cleaned, then asked me to come look and approve the work. The tub was spotless. I thanked him and asked what the stuff was. His only response was, "It's nasty, isn't it?" I agreed that it was, but at least the tub was clean so I didn't say anything else.
Imagine my surprise when the next morning the tub was in exactly the same condition as it had been when we arrived the night before!! The photos that accompany this review were taken in the morning, AFTER the tub had been cleaned and appeared spotless 8 hours earlier. I wish now that I would have called the Health Department and waited until they got there, but I wanted to get started on my vacation. I put a towel down and took my shower.
This hotel was by far the worst of all four; the others were quite a pleasant surprise after this fiasco. The photos were taken with my cell phone.
