“Great with room for improvements”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

The room is as expected with all Embassy Suites, one living room and one bedroom. The bed was comfortable and the living room excellent to work and relax in. There was only 3 gripes: i) There was no porter to help with the luggage. Self-service all the way. ii) Internet is not free and expensive. Hotel should have given complimentary at the lobby as a minimum. iii) Breakfast choices quite limited. Once or twice is fine. Sick of it on the 3rd day onwards.

This is a nice hotel. Parking is $22.00 a day which is way to expensive you. The parking is also limited so if you don’t get in early you will have to continually search for parking. If you do not find any parking you leave and pay for parking even if there is none. I probably will switch to another hotel because of the parking situation. Having the breakfast is great but they put the food up even if you are not finished eating or being served. I thought that was pretty rude.

Thank you for your time in posting your comments, and we're sorry to hear about your experience with our parking lot. We are competively priced with similar hotels in our area, and if we do happen to run out of spaces, which is very infrequent, you should not have been charged for parking. If that was the case, please contact our guest services department. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope you'll give us another chance to earn your business.

We booked this hotel last minute due to some changes in our family weekend trip. We stayed 2 nights. Price was reasonable. We paid more for another hotel in San Diego, and this hotel was more clean and had more space! When you're looking for a place to sleep 6 (two adults and 4 kids), you need all the space you can get, not to mention enough beds for us all. Overall, was very impressed by the presentation of hotel. Check in and out was smooth. Everyone working there was very friendly, from house cleaning to chef. Breakfast was great! Not your run of the meal, rush in/ rush out add-on just to fill the features section on their website like other hotels. Very guest centered atmosphere. Had more than enough selection. LOVED that we can bring our breakfast back to our rooms! Room had everything we needed, desk/dinning table ;) , mini frig, microwave, etc. Be aware, fitness center may not be what you were expecting, only 4 treadmills and a rack of free weights (dumbells only up to 50lbs). Didn't get to experience the Manager's reception. Had a little trouble with room key in elevators. Was advised not to keep them next to cell phones or credit cards otherwise they won't work properly. Will definitely be returning again when in the LA area!

We stayed here for a night before flying across to DC as it was convenient to the airport.
The room size was good for a family of 5 with a separate bedroom and lounge with sofa bed.
That was about the end of the positives.
We stayed on the top floor and must have been under the air-con unit fans as it sounded like a freight train was running across the roof all night long, we couldn't sleep and the hotel was full and couldn't move us. Even the kids who normally can sleep through anything were kept awake.
We had an early start so decided to eat in the room for dinner, which we found very pricey for average quality - I don't mind paying premium $ for room service if it is good quality food, but it wasn't. The complimentary breakfast was ok, but not as good as other Embassy Suite hotels we have stayed at.
I also needed to print and email some documents from the business centre - only problem is they couldn't print PDF documents (???) I had to email these to front reception for them to print, then after being told I could scan the docs for emailing, then was told I couldn't, nor could they fax the documents to Australia, even though I was willing to pay for this service. This was a real problem - fortunately the next day arriving into DC and staying at the Embassy Suites there, they were able to send the documents for me.
Overall, very disappointed with this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the top floor... noisy a/c

They didn't have the room I reserved available and stuck me in a one room handicap room. I asked for a discount to $99 for the room and they would not give it to me. They offered to move me after I unpacked and was in bed. The restaurant service was terrible. It took 20 min to get an appetizer sampler platter.

Great accommodations, lovely rooms, great front desk service. Restaurant one of the best in the Embassy Suites. Needs soundproof glass on street side of building, the complimentary services could use some work. cocktail hour popcorn and chips & salsa and breakfast removal of food while people were still filling their plates "promptly" at 9:00am.
