My familiy of four (2 small children) stayed here during a recent conference at the LA convention center. we had two adjoining rooms, which was very spacious for the children. Very nice staff and clean rooms. Comfortable beds. The pool was very nice. However, the real draw is the food court right in the hotel! This was great as it allowed us to have simple meals for us and the children.

This hotel is located perfectly in downtown Los Angeles and the price we paid via Priceline came to about $115 per night with all taxes and fees.

The standard room was fine with the Heavenly Bed, Starbucks in-room coffee maker, double shower head and nice toiletries. There's a nice selection of cable channels and one premium (Showtime, I think), and big picture windows give the room plenty of light. The small fridge was another bonus.

The hotel itself reminds me of a cruise ship. Huge lobby with restaurant and bar, water fountain features, lots of restaurants and business services including car rental, and just across the street is Koo-Koo Roo Chicken, Starbucks, La Salsa and Quiznos (closed when we were there). It is about a 10 minute walk to the Metro 7th Street Station, where you can catch the subway/lightrail to Hollywood and other locales without a car. Or walk one block and catch the DASH buses, which only cost 25 cents and run every 5-10 minutes on 5 or 6 fixed routes.

The Visitor Center is also located very close by, and the library is 5 minutes by foot and you can use free Internet for 15 minutes without having to register or anything. Walk up the steps (or if you are really tired, take the escalator) of Bunker Hill, and then find the guideposts for a walking tour of the area.

We enjoyed the hotel because of its location and comfort. We didn't use any business services, but I did see the business center and it seemed useable. The room service menu or breakfast delivery is a bit expensive. Each morning there is a breakfast buffet for something like $25. Save some money and go across the street to the Undeground Mall and you can find a McDonalds and 4 other little quick service restaurants that can get you a great morning breakfast for under $8 a person including coffee.

I've seen people get this hotel on Priceline for $75 per night (depending on the date), which would make this property very unbeatable for what you get. Even at $115 per night I give this place a 5.

After waiting hours to get a room previously booked but they had no record of it? . Finally got a room late evening.

The room a bit small, but with fantastic veiws over the city.
Most of the food is a "fast food" type on floor 4 and 6. suggest you ask the bell captain for a map of the local restaurants. I can recommend Mc Cormicks & Schmicks sea food restaurant one block away. Large menu and wine list at reasonable prices.

Large queue for breakfast, even at the breakfast bar.

This was one my worst hotel experiences ever!! When I checked-in they give me a room - i go up to find somebody already in the room!!! So I trudge back to the desk - the guy tells me that they don't have any more kingbed rooms available. He offers me $50 certificate for room service to compensate. Then disappears for 10 mins and tells me there a no more certificates available! I was tired after a long flight, and just wanted to get to a room - so I settled for a free breakfast and just took whatever room they had available. It was a horrible room for the price paid. I am not generally picky, but this was real shabby. Everything was old and tired. Then, I asked for hot milk from room service, they brought up cold milk. TO top it all, the next morning, I ask for a wake-up call - nobody calls! I get a call from security an hour later to tell me that they had problems with their wake-up service.

I can't say enough bad things about this place. This is my first review I have written, only because I am just so angry!!!

My wife and I stayed here for a night on April 8th for the Lakers game and enjoyed our stay. Staples Center was 8 blocks away a good 20 minute walk.
The hotel's interior is huge and a bit overwhelming but we were able to find our way around. The rooms were a bit on the small side but the floor to ceiling windows make up for the lack of size.
We had drinks at the revolving lounge at the top of the hotel which is a must if you stay here. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the downtown area.
