Our organization reserved room and parking for four days. I still had to put a deposit down.
I gave a $100 cash deposit as I dont use credit cards. I was told in order to use the room phone to call out I would have to secure with a credit card. I could call room to room with no charge. Wow. Once in my room, I set up my lap top. I was told I would have to secure the fee with a credit card. What, these people didnt listen. I dont use credit cards. What did I pay a deposit for if I couldnt use the internet or make outside phone calls. There were pay phones by the restrooms, which meant I had to go down the elevator again to the lobby to get to the phone. After about 15 minutes of arguing they finally realized that I had made a cash deposit, sent in the tech and set up the internet, which was 12.99 per 24 hours. I had requested a room close to the elevators which I received. The room was not to bad
and was close to the elevator- blue tower. Well then comes the elevators, what a mess.
In order to get to the 3,4,5,6 floors, you have to go to the lobby then take the access elevator- if you are handicapped- to those floors., if you are not handicapped. you have the stairs or escalator. The shops and the somewhat cheaper places to eat are on those floors. To get to these places and outside patios you had to walk and walk and walk. I ate mostly in those places as to eat in the buffet cost 15.00 each for breakfast and lunch and I dont know how much dinner was. The buffet seemed nice but too expensive for my pocketbook. The one restaurant I ate in was reasonable. It was on the 4th floor, and by the time I got to it I had worked up quite an appitite. To get to the pool patio area, you had to walk all the way around to the green tower. A long long walk. The food that was negotiated was good and the service was good, but when you have a handicap you need to lessen the walking. This is not a hotel for handicapped people. I walk with walker. I used valet parking and this was great, only had to wait 15 minutes to receive our car and the bellhops were at my room
within 15 minutes for checkout. It is a very nice hotel, but the rooms could be bigger to accomodate people with walkers, and they need to have elevator access to all floors. I am referring to tower elevators. All in all, I enjoyed my stay, however I will not stay there again as it seemed as if you had to have a credit card to get what you want, and it is not really handicapped accessable.
