i stayed at the bonaventura in mid november 2004 and wow what a building! as me and my friend pulled up in our taxi we knew we had made an excellent choice check in was very fast and the staff friendly. it was a little confusing finding our rooms at first we stayed in the red tower and our room was amazing with a great view it had a strange shape ut that didn't bother me we had nice bathroom with a heavenly shower which is an experience you shouldn't miss! as for the heavenly beds as soon as you sat on them you didn't want to get up i had the best night's sleep ever! in these beds so soft you just didn't want to get out of the bed in the morning we ate at the revolving cocktail lounge it was alittle expensive but you do get to keep the glass which makes a great souvenier. the hotel is in a good location as the metro stop is only a short walk away and a great way to get around buy an all day ticket for $3 it also takes you to universal city home of universal studioes a great day out
on our last night we treated ourselves to a meal at the L.A Prime resturant on the 35th floor the views were amazing and so was the atmosphere the waiter was great and didn't mind taking our picture for us i would recommend the steak it is the best i ever tasted however it was a little expensive but worth it we ended up with doggy bags as we ordered too much. if you are on a budget there are some shops on the lower floors and fast food places
we only had 1 problem and that was on our last night after returning from an evening out when we returned to our room our key card would not work we went to reception and they told us they would call security they also wanted I.D but it was in our room we went to our room and had to wait 30 minutes for security to arrive at this point me and my friend were a little worried he was very helpful he then told we had been mistakenly checked out and had to go to reception to check ourselves back in we were not that pleased at reception we were told it was nothing to worry about and that was that! we went back to our room without an apology or anything. apart from this incident everything was great i would def return to this hotel

Me and my 2 girlfriends stayed in this magical hotel June 2004. When we arrived it wasn't busy, and I was pretty much expecting a whole herd of people waiting to be checked in. It's amazingly spacious, and the people behind the desks were professional. The lobby is presented in such a way that you are left staring! Fountains and water features everywhere! Our bags were taken up for us to our room which was (from my recollection) in the yellow block. The rooms were lovely, the bathroom was big enough (seeing as there were girls rushing in and out of there 247) and the beds were huge. Everything was clean in that room, and the sheets were divine! Clean towels were bought up each day. The hotel itself is what I call Heaven!! When riding up in the elevator a fellow tourist commented on how the revolving restaurant (food) didn't live up to his expectations-so we didn't actually bother- However I wish I didn't listen now! The only downfall of this hotel was it's location. Thankfully we had a friend in California who was able to drive us around, but frankly had we been on our own there we wouldn't have survived. Seemed like everything was out of reach. Although if you are looking to pay for a room at this hotel I am sure you can afford the few bucks to get a cab from A to B. The running track is useful for those who intend to keep up with their daily exercise regimes. The pool wasn't in use during the month of June-still quite chilly.

All in all, if you have in mind the means of transport you intend to use then this hotel is the best! It's clean, modern and everything you'd expect from a high class hotel!

I stayed here 2/22/05 for a quick buisness trip. I was going to stay at the Hilton, but it was $100 more. I got a room at the Westin for $159 and it was great. Loved the Heavenly bed. Quite, clean and nothing to complain about except the workout facilities. This is a HUGE hotel and they have a tiny fitness room. I went down at 6 am and there was a line for the few machines they had available. If in downtown LA again, I would gladly stay here again.

I stayed at the Westin Bonaventure on March 5, which was the evening before the LA Marathon. Granted, they were exceptionally busy, but the hotel parking lot was full and they very rudely told us to park in an independent lot across the street.
I had called 4 days prior to my stay requesting non-smoking with two double beds. At check in, the receptionist informed me that as a Priceline customer, I would get "any run of the mill room." In this case, smoking.
The carpets are dated and stained. The rooms are smallish, but decent. The lobby area is nice.
Overall, not 4 star hotel quality and if you book on Priceline, be prepared to be treated like a second class guest and they will tell you this to your face at check in.

Just returned from LA and I really enjoyed our one night at the Bonaventure. My wife is still talking about the beds- best ever. The rooms are somewhat small but fine for two. Top notch decor and bedding. Floor to ceiling windows and a view of the Hollywood sign on Oscar night- great fun. Our room was quiet on 17th floor of the blue tower. Watched commercials being filmed on streets below- Sunday downtown was deserted. Lots of food options. $25 parking is a bit much. If you don't need pampering- this is a great spot for couples.
