tiny room paper-thin walls. Oversized lobby is basically a museum of 1970's architecture. Costs $10 to buy a beer in lobby bar - where am I, the Ritz? The workout room is ridiculously overcrowded. After a workout, I go to the gift shop to buy an overpriced bottle of water - they won't let me charge it to my room. Do they assume I carry cash when I work out? Then I go the basic hotel restaurant for breakfast and they get me for $35 for an omelette - ok if the hotel was nice but, lets be real, the lobby is just a bunch of concrete walls and bizarre pools of water.

During my first visit to the Westin Bonaventure, I found the staff tremendously friendly and helpful, the architecture fascinating, and the location convenient. The Thai Massage at the spa was outstanding.

I don't care for it. I've stayed at this hotel twice now, both for conferences. The rooms have been updated and parts of the lobby, but the rest looks like a step back to the 70s. Also the layout is annoying. There are different towers for rooms and the elevators don't stop on all floors - you have to take stairs/escalators to get to some floors. Finally the food is not good...

I'm usually a Westin fan but the decor/service of the hotel is not on par.

Stayed at the Westin for 3 nights, check in with Jen was smooth and quick, she had a big smile and was very friendly and pleasant.Large open air lobby with fountains and open air restaurant. Stayed in yellow tower on 19th floor, hallways were a little tight and the rooms were very close due to the design of the hotel. The room was small with a nice view of the HOLLYWOOD sign and a not so nice view of the freeway. There was no dresser in the room but a piece of furniture with the tv on top and 2 doors on the bottom revealing a small refrigerator and 3 slide out drawers that I guess was supposed to be for clothes, chose not to use the drawers. The full size beds were small but comfy and the bathroom was really nice with marble floors, granite counters and large mirrors. There are several stores and small restaurants on the 4th and 5th floor, the restaurants seemed a bit out of place in the hotel and not a place I would choose to eat. The lobby restaurant had ok food and I felt it was overpriced. The hotel is in a good location with several things in walking distance. Overall I had a pleasant stay and I would recommend this hotel for the good location and friendly staff.

I suspect that my review is somewhat influenced by the uniqueness of the hotel's architecture and by the fact that several movies were filmed there, which is why I called it fun. Nonetheless, i thought it was comfortable and convenient for conducting business in LA. The rooms have great views. The sleep quality was very good although noise easily leaked from rooms next door. I liked the ease of the shops and food courts so one could get some sundries and reasonably priced food. Check in was quick and efficient. Pricing was good for a big city hotel. I'd stay again.

I suspect most rooms are good as they are in the Towers. As the price was $175.00 per day, I chose to kick back for 2 days. AA lost my luggage, so I had to walk to Macys to buy clothes. The hotel breakfast was $25.00 per person and while it was good, it was typical hotel food and nothing memorable. Fresh squeezed was a treat as was the coffee. I had a king bed for which I was never able to figure out why Kings are desired for 1 person, alone, in all that bed. But hey, lotta room to dream. Linens were nice! Very cool view from my 25th floor! Bathroom was over-sized and well appointed.
It is a big dinosaur with lots of room to walk in empty spaces upstairs. I feel sorry for vendors that do not do much business up there, mostly independent food vendors and restaurants. I give it an, average, as far as properties go and above average for people watching. I loved the fountains and running water in the lobby. I would not spend the money again at that hotel. Did not uses the Tower Steak House. Found one other restaurant on the pool level and the food was quite good. There was a wedding reception going on the same level. The hotel was OK, nothing memorable.

Room Tip: I suspect all rooms are good with a view, just depends on what you are looking for.

As a longtime Starwood Gold member I find that most of the hotels in the Starwood group are very polite and accommodating, without fail, the Westin hotels seem to not really give a hoot about the Starwood customer and the Westin St Bon was no different. We stayed here for a concert at LA Live. it was a good location but the hotel wasn't anything special. Overall nice rooms, nice lobby, nice amenities, poor valet, but otherwise just OK.

Room Tip: Nice views up high but elevators aren't super fast.
