“Hip Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

My husband and I stayed for a night at The Line this week. Loved the decor: bleached wood, stripped back concrete & homely fabrics.

We got a Hollywood Hills View King. The view is wow! The room is kinda small but perfect for our one night. A little street noise but nothing unusual for a city location.

We ate at the Commissary restaurant (delicious!) for dinner & the Cafe downstairs in the morning. It's great having good food options within the hotel specially if you are only in town for a limited time.

I stayed at The Line for a work trip and was very impressed with the room decor as well as the service. My room had breathtaking views of LA with loads of natural light. The bed was very comfortable, the room was well appointed, and ALL of the staff provided top notch service. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

It has a hip atmosphere and it's a nice hotel. I had two separate stays and the experience was different. The first one with no view at all and my room wasn't good at all. Didn't seem very clean, had stains on the carpet and lots of noice (5th floor east side facing north). The second time great view, better room and less noice on the 6th floor Westside facing north. It can be two very different experiences. They need have a little more consistency. As far as the food and bars are nice...

This is not that far from Sunset Hollywood area so why not. The fresh facelift that this Koreatown Fav has encountered allows it to be romantic and trendy. I would surely stay here again as its some of the best service I have received in L.A. Face it people are rude and pretentious in all aspects of the entertainment dreams mecca of Los Angeles/ Hollywierd! When you meet great service from the employees at the LINE tell them how amazing they are as I did! This is hard to find! I love views right from my bed here. Good linens, Nice bar, Amazing Bellman (waited with me to check in to make sure I didnt have to move my bags an inch) Urban Modernism and good weather make this alright with me. Valet in this town is gonna cost ya no matter what get used to it. Big City Lack of Parking is the norm. If your searching everywhere for a good value in L.A. that is somewhat sexy and will impress your partner a bit...stay here. If your on a budget stay elsewhere.

Room Tip: Just ask they may accommodate! Ask for the Hollywood side so you can see the sign.

Stayed at the line for 2 nights, usually stay downtown. Went for a conference and not the most awesome conference facility (not enough light, meeting room doors loud and distracting, etc). staff service was excellent, nice surroundings for a conference, good social gathering spaces available. loved the room itself, the concrete walls, the big working desk with lots of plugs, the lighting, the auto big window screens, the comfy bed. one down side...my room looked right into a big apartment building so i could see people and they could see me. had to be in room with shade down. would have been nicer with a nicer view.

all in all, a great experience. i'm looking forward to coming back.

The hotel is very unique. Valets are friendly and efficient with your car. $35 a day to park with unlimited in and out privileges. The lobby has an extremely contemporary vibe and is filled with young 20-30 well heeled guests. Staff at check in were quick and welcoming. The rooms are modern, well planned and laid out. A fun, comfortable space that you want to be in. Beds are super comfortable, floor to ceiling windows, superb sheets and a spacious bathroom that was nicely appointed. Urban cool and very quiet. Cement walls, wool carpet and overall, very impressive. The staff text me throughout the stay to ensure all was well and replied to my replies telling them how pleased we were with the room immediately - nice touch. Saw Jason Segel in the elevator. He obviously has good tastes in LA hotels!

Room Tip: Top floor was quiet and great views

Stayed 8th and 9th April 2015 First off the staff are very helpful, but that's were it ends. Our travel agent book us here (sort that out latter) and was advised Early book in. But "So they say" our room is not ready but can upgrade you! $30 bucks a night thanks for coming. We explained that we had early booking confirmed and that we need to get our 12yo showered (threw up on the flight 6 Hrs out of LAX, Turbulence.) (Qantas staff great gave her some business class PJs) The room had a great view but was very small . No coffee making facilities. the walls were unfinished construction concrete. The beds so so. But for the price and the upgrade you will find a lot better. No good restaurants near by There are 2 restaurants in the hotel 1 is Korean the other is..... Different. (same chef) You order your entrées and mains BUT it comes as the chef cooks it. ie our carrots which were burnt on one side came before the entrée the last was the garlic bread near the end of the meal What the. The staff (very helpful) said that's the way the chef does it!!! (10pm tied just ate bed) Full flavour but weird.

Room Tip: Don't stay on Wilshire rd side (noisy)

Dear Revsandblondie,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback from your recent stay.

Although, we love and appreciate Sean Knibb's creative design for the hotel, we do understand his vision is not for everyone. Roy Choi's restaurants are both amazing. POT is a Korean fusion and Commissary is American. Commissary is more of an innovative menu which allows the guest to enjoy the Chef's imaginative creations.

I am happy to hear the staff made a positive impression on you and I only hope you will give us another opportunity in the future.

Regards,
Senior Guest Experience Manager,
Josh Brown
