I stayed at the Omni for one night for business in July 2007, and I definitely had a pleasant stay. I booked my hotel online and in the Special Requests section I asked for a room on a higher floor, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel actually read my request and honored it (so many do not!). The room was clean and nice but not incredible. The fitness center is small but nice, with new state-of-the-art equipment (not a lot of it but enough for an OK workout) and right next to a spa that looked quite nice (although I didn't get a chance to use it). The restaurant offered healthy and organic options for its breakfast buffet, which was nice to see. The location is good if you need to be downtown, close to many downtown attractions. Overall, I would have no problem recommending this hotel to others. My one complaint, which I have with so many hotels, is that it charged extra for Internet access in the room, which is particularly nonsensical given the fact that there's free wi-fi access in the lobby.

There is a lot of potential here. The building is well located, within walking distance of the arts institutions on Bunker Hill and most of the office buildings in downtown LA. The public spaces inside the hotel and in neighboring California Plaza are attractive. But there is a real sense of fatigue. The facilities need renovation, and the staff seem disengaged. My room was spacious, but had all sorts of problems. For example, hot water in the shower was very slow (like 2 minutes!) to appear and the pressure was never strong; the air conditioning was weak; there was no light next to the reading chair; and the carpet was old, stained, and ugly. Food in the daytime restaurant was really bad: tough and tasteless. (I didn't sample the up-scale evening restaurant, Noe.) And everywhere -- the doormen, the check-in people at the desk, the attendant in the concierge-level lounge -- the staff were indifferent: lots of smiles, but no results. I am sorry to say this. I have stayed here before, and things seemed better then. That's why I returned. It is still an OK hotel, but no more than OK. If what I experienced on my recent trip is typical, one can do better elsewhere.

We stayed at the Omni for 2 weeks and we loved every minute of it! I have nothing bad to say about this hotel, it has everything that you would ever want. The staff are so friendly, the room is immaculate, the location is excellent and safe and its near the metro and buses etc so its really good if you dont have a car. Stay here if you want a good holiday! If i ever get the chance to go back to Los Angeles then this is the only hotel that i will be staying in!

My husband and I were so impressed with the Omni. We have stayed in many upscale hotels, and the Omni was right up there on service and comfort. The staff was welcoming and pleasant from the minute we drove up to the day we left. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The fitness center was outfitted with state of the art equipment and also very clean. Even though the hotel is downtown (which is really quiet on weekends), we didnt' feel like we were far from all the action. We can't say enough good things about the Omni. We would definitely stay here again.
