“Love this hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

We spent one night at this hotel in between touring colleges in Los Angeles and spending a week at a condo in San Diego. We pulled up with our car packed to the hilt with pillows and ice chests and bike racks. We opened the doors and everything fell out. I was so embarrassed to be pulling up to this gorgeous hotel looking like the Beverly Hillbillies, but the valets were gracious and laughed and promised to keep our bikes safe. They were very patient while we stuffed everything back into the car and treated us like royalty. They even upgraded our room for a better view. The rooms were clean and well decorated. The beds were extremely comfortable. We had a late snack at Noe's outside by the fire pit.. The rigatoni was very very good. We had breakfast at The Grand cafe and it was perfect. The valet offered is bottled water and formthe next leg of Would definitely stay here again!

As a co-attendee of the LA Film Fest, it was my job to look for a nice, smoke-free, luxurious feeling (without the expensive price tag) quiet place to rest between very busy days in the Staples Center. Quite happily & maybe a little surprisingly, I found it at this downtown Omni.

Our Room: we asked for & got a charming (with wonderful furnishings & soft goods) quiet room with a nice view of a fountain & the entrance to M.O.C.A (L.A.'s contemporary museum of art) + Disney's wonderfully modern music hall. The only thing I was sad not to see was a free bottle of water (who doesn't need a glass of water @bedtime??) or much coveted coffee maker. Other than that, I was very pleased with our room, even without my much needed cup of gratis java in the am.

Here's a tip: when you leave (in your car) for the day, ask the valet for 2 bottles of cold water (most nicer hotels offer them, but I find you have to ask), put them in a cool place while you're out (you should never drink heated bottled water as the plastic can impart pcb's into the water which has been found to cause cancer. Then take the water to your room upon your return & use in place of the $6.00 bottle of water that we drank because we forgot to pick a bottle up. Oh well, lesson learned!

Breakfast downstairs: was a good old fashioned brunch, the kind that was very popular some time ago. It is hip? No, just your average offerings + an omelet bar which was nice just the same but don't ask for a mocha. Their "mocha" is something like coffee + some foamy milk for $5.00 & very disappointing. Obviously, they don't posses an espresso maker so don't bother asking. Still, our view was a very peaceful, tree lined walkway that leads all the way to the Walt Disney Hall & is a perfect way to walk there (in comfortable heels) & I'd go so far as to say could be even a bit romantic. All in all, I found this Omni was a tranquil little respite from the big bad city, at least on quiet weekends when all the downtown workers are off the clock.

Room Tip: Always check the hotels site for promotional deals first. That said, our corner room was a perfect f...

You get what you expect. Nothing less or nothing more. It is a good hotel, but just that. No spirit, like you may find in other Omni hotels. The bar s in different floor than reception, so you cannot tell which one is the main hall.

This is a very nice and well appointed hotel in downtown Los angels, next to the MOCA museum and a block from the Disney Concert Center...near the metro and with many good restaurants the neighborhood for breakfast, lunch or dinner...but no people on the streets at night or on weekends a little creepy for a New Yorker....

Room Tip: The beds are very high and difficult to get in and out of easily if your are under 5'3"

Very comfortable newly renovated club room. The club itself is not in the league of Hyatt clubs, but as always it is good to have some extra space. The staff were efficient and less money grabbing than at Peninsula.
The pluses are the Omni is relatively quiet and spacious for LA and I like the peacefulness of the place. It's a few steps to the MOMA and the DisneyHall so it's easy to do conference and culture.
Relatively short trip to the LAX. Good town car service. The fine dining restaurant, I've was average. Good laundry service and a very solid business hotel.
While the downtown is being improved and more people are living there than a few years ago it is basically empty in non business hours.

We stayed here in May and had a fabulous time. The location down town is good with easy access to the metro so you can quickly get to the touristy spots. The service is fantastic and we found the concierge especially helpful. The rooms are big, nicely decorated with very comfortable beds and the food is delicious! We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Complimentary sedan is a great idea and make sure you join the Omni loyalty scheme as you can enjoy...

Bright and relaxing hotel with excellent staff at a very reasonable rate. All the employees were very knowledgable and helpful. Free regular wifi to in the room to Omni members (front desk person signed me up -free and easy).

The lobby ice water cooler with fresh fruit inside was a nice touch. It doesn't add a ton of flavor to the water but it's really attractive and refreshing. (It's free and stocked with cups.)

I hadn't been in downtown L.A. for a long time and was impressed with the area while traveling on business. The hotel is close to the beautiful Disney Concert Hall and adjacent to a lovely plaza area. (I got a nice corner room with a view of the plaza.) Be sure to go on Angels Flight - a charming, 100-year old tram that will take you up and down a steep hill.

There's no rooftop bar but it's just a short walk to the nearby Bonaventure Hotel which does have one.

Don't forget your higher end toiletries like a Gillette razor as the closest Rite Aid-type place is four blocks away in a dirtier section of town. But there is a decent sundry store adjacent to the hotel plaza.

If you're visiting L.A. for the first time, you probably don't want to stay downtown (unless someone else is driving you around) but if you need to stay in the area, this is a great spot.

Take a short cab ride to Japan town if you get a chance. Lots a of great small authentic restaurants.
