Was met with a smile at reception and that's kinda the story of this hotel - the staff are super friendly and very willing to please. The rooms, on the other hand, are a different story - they are really very tired and in dire need of sprucing up. They would have been better spending the cost of the 42 inch tv on paint and decor.

Overall, ok but it's not somewhere I'll be rushing back to.

Well, sorry for the paint and decor - you will soon see changes - but thank you for the great feedback on our Service Team! Ultimately, it's not the "new car smell" but the perfomance that drives popularity, but I know what you mean!

We had such a wonderful stay here. My family and I stayed at this hotel from Dec 27th -Jan 2nd. We had a one bedroom suite on the executive level, and we always enjoy having access to the lounge area with breakfast in the morning and the horderves in afternoon. The customer service was exemplary, and this hotel was our final stop on our New Orleans to Los Angeles road-trip, great choice. We were close to everything and this hotel was attached to a little mall area so great for shopping. We enjoyed it very much, would definitely stay here again.

The purpose of our trip to Los Angeles was business combined with a bit of pleasure. We chose the Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown because of its location half-way between our meeting locations and the reasonable price for a three-nights stay.

Check-in was prompt and we found our room to be tastefully decorated, clean, and spacious. It was clear that our room had been updated. The hotel kindly provided us a refrigerator and microwave for a small nightly fee. The view was unspectacular (our room looked across the mall rooftop into another office building), but the windows afforded plenty of privacy and good sunlight.

The hotel's location is conveniently adjacent to Macy's Plaza, which is not the flashiest mall, but offers a Macy's Department store along with other mid-range shopping options and decent dining options. We went to dinner in the mall and had some very good steaks. If you have a car, and in LA who doesn't, you can easily drive to Downtown attractions (Walt Disney Concert Hall, Dodger Stadium, LA Live, Staples Center and the Convention Center) as well as University of Southern California, Los Angeles's West Side, Pasadena, and the South Bay.

My only complaint would be the cost and convenience of parking. We had to walk through the mall to access parking that was 32.00 per night. There are less expensive parking options nearby but they do not offer in/out privileges and typically have time restrictions.

I recommend this hotel if the location suits your needs. It is a good option for business travelers, families, friends, and solo travelers.

Had a nice stay. wasn't happy about the 32.00 a day parking charge or the housekeeping service. They never left towels each day for a shower. I had to call and complain every day. the quality of the towels were not 4 star at all, quite cheap quality. No Hair Blower in the room, The Television was hard to work. If this is a 4 star hotel. then i prefer to just stay at the
3 1/2 star ones, as they are a lot better!! On a positive note, it is located in a great area , plenty of shopping and restaurants. I just wish they were more attentive to detail

Our group was there as part of a large convention - when we arrived we had a 40 minute wait before we could get checked in. The line just kept on getting longer - not sure how long the wait was ater we went to our rooms. While we waited I looked for the concierge to ask about places to eat in the area and general questions about how to get around the area. Finally found someone who presented as a concierge but was not helpful - basically gave me a map and pointed to a few streets to try out. My room was OK but had an odor that gave me the impression they were trying to mask an even worse odor. The AC was not effective. The city must have been cleaning out the pipes around there - water was brown-ish the first few times I ran the faucet. I heard others complaining of black water and needing to use bottled water for cleaning up. Wouldn't stay there again if it was up to me. Downtown LA is pretty ugly and depressing. I am not a fan.

Unfortunately it is always going to be a challenge to register 250 people arriving much at the same time, but your comments are noted and we will always work to improve the process. Sorry we could not meet your expectations in the other aspects of your stay....disapoiniting that your convention free time was limited and you were not able to enjoy the many attractions of the LA area.

This hotel is located in the heart of downtown LA. So if its business or pleasure in this area location is superb.

Pros)

1)staff are very nice
2)good location
3) spacious rooms
4)comfortable beds

Cons)

1-Internet is horrible
2-zero range for cell phones
3- the lights In room are inadequate and don't work
4-cleaning service is horrible
5-room service is not up to par with other SPG hotels. ( same menu)
6-tv setup is aweful
7- bathroom is like a half size.

I was visiting for business, therefore if the media issues are not resolved I will not return. Other than that average amenities.

The line was long checking in as this was one of the hotels hosting a big conference.The manager comes into the line welcoming and reassuring guests.They provided cold water for those in line and more clerks appeared in the front desk.We requested a room with a view and they assigned us a corner room in the 10th floor, glass on 2 sides and a great view of downtown.The lobby has comfy seats and when we pass thru it, you'll discover its actually connected to a Mall with a food court.Across is the Walgreens and Rite Aid and the Metro 's 7th and Hope Red line stop. The beds were super comfy with soft large pillows and room was large!They provided us more hangers on request with no questions asked.The personnel were very friendly and makes us feel at home immediately.Big plasma TV with a remote that doesn't respond quickly. We were next to the ice machine and we can hear the noises outside.Takes a little while for hot water to come after all its the tenth floor! It has 24 floors.No wifi in the room though.Parking is cheap across the hotel but in the hotel as expected.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room to give you a view.Park across the street.Take Metro 7th and Hope St to Hollyw...
