“Not for the romantic!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

Stayed in this hotel for one night, area and room were ok, but the bed and floor squeaked really badly! We had to drive to find somewhere decent to eat. This place is fine for a night and although we didn't use it, the pool didn't look too bad and there was plenty of free parking.

We stayed here while attending a concert down the street. I went back and forth between this and another hotel and decided here based on it's proximity to the venue. We stayed here on a Sunday night and I think $125 is a bit pricey for that day of the week and what you actually get.

We went to check in and could barely hear the guy with terrible people skills behind the bulletproof glass. My credit card was swiped on an old-school carbon paper machine. Nothing was very up-to-date with the whole check-in process. The key and the remote control were given to us at check-in.

The room smelled terrible, like cleaning products gone bad. The beds were okay, but everything looked stained. The carpet was so out-of-date; nothing vintage about it. The bathrooms were updated and the shower was decent. There was no hair-dryer; had to check that out, too. And don't think they'll bring it up to you!

I barely slept all night. It was so noisy and it sounded like someone (or something) was crawling up the vent.

We gladly checked out the next day. The guy that day was a little friendlier.

I'm not super familiar with this area but there was some restaurant choices about 1.5 miles down. There's a bus stop too, and they did call a cab for us.

I will not be returning, nor will I be recommending this to anyone.

I have stayed in this hotel for few times. The location is very good, but the hotel’s management is very bad. I called few times to make a reservation; the man who is in charge was asking me to call later because he is busy. Last time I was waiting for 45 minutes in the lobby until the man who was sitting in the reception area finishes his lunch. I have spoken with the owner of the hotel; it seems he doesn’t care for the service also. They want to run their hotel the same way they were running their business in Armenia. No in the US that doesn’t work.

Room Tip: Don't go to this hotel

This motel was exactly where we needed to be so we gave it a try. It is like an aging Hollywood beauty queens, past its prime and relying on makeup.

The hotel is a throwback to a couple of decades ago. We had read other TripAdvisor reviews an much of what we read was accuate.

1. The hotel is aged, but it appears to have been repainted and remodeled a bit.
2. The ceiling creak when someone above you is walking around, not a huge problem as our upstairs neighbors were pretty quiet and next time we'd ask for a thrid floor room.
3. No high tech, high speed computerized check in. They use an old fashioned "sign in" process and run the credit card through. Not an issue.
4. Room was very basic, but was clean and the remodeled bathroom was better than some newer, fancier hotels we've been to.
5. No hot coffee in the room, but a hot tea, coffee and cocoa vending machine in the lobby.
6. Rooms use a real key, haven't seen one of those in a while.
7. Old tube TV, but lots of channel.
8. Air conditioning was fairly modern but noisy.

It was fine, in the perfect spot, and the price was right.

Room Tip: Ask for a thrid floor room so that you don't hear anyone walking around above you.

Very good location. Very close to the Farmer's Market. I'd rather stay here again instead of Santa Monica. It is much more central and close to much more interesting places than Santa Monica. Staff was very gentle and helpful. We bought many things in the Amazon and had them delivered in many boxes to the hotel. Everything was stored and perfec when we arrived. We did not try the pool. We were three couples travelling together and they were nice enough to put us all in close rooms, one of them having a small kitchen that was very useful when we decided to buy beers and order a pizza instead of going out. Also the regular rooms were very big. It is very simple, but the price is very good. Would recommend.

The appeal of this place for me is it looks like a fifties advertisement for California. White stucco with pool, palm trees. It did not disappoint. The inn is no frills, clean, safe and secure. Comfortable beds. I couldn't get on the internet but there is access provided.

My friend and I went for a walk in search of food and enjoyed a wonderful time in a beautiful neighborhood. We returned to the hotel and ordered off the takeout menu provided for dinner. There are no restaurants nearby. I was concerned there was no coffee pot listed so I packed bottled coffee and brought pastries.

The management was friendly and efficient. We stored our bags while we went out for breakfast after checkout time. We did not have a car but there is free covered parking provided.

Just by phone the service was terrible bad. The person who answer, mr "Simon" was rude and unhelpfull.
He denied to answer my questions about a reschedule. He finished hang up on me and told me he had a customer waiting for him.
The do not recommend this hotel, if the service by phone is like this, imagine the rest.
look for other reviews, they all bad!
DO NOT BOOK w/ TAKE TOURS also, they provide the same discare for your necessities.
