“Fabulous old Hollywood feel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

We stayed for one night at the Roosevelt on our arrival in LA. I love the decor in this hotel. In the hallway leading up to our room, there are fabulous old "papparazzi" photos lining the halls with a little blurb about each. I loved that. Our room was nice, and overlooked Hollywood Bv and you could see downtown LA in the distance. There was a big picture of the Rolling Stones from a few decades ago over the bed. I thought it was a really fun touch. The bathroom was very retro, which I liked. There were a few issues with lack of space to put things. I dislike not having counterspace to put my makeup bag, etc... Also, the shower didn't have a curtain, just a piece of glass that covered one half of the shower, and it didn't meet up to the wall properly and leaked all over the floor whenever you showered. They did have nice toiletries.
The hotel is right smack in the middle of the action on Hollywood Bv. There was a Starbucks right across the street, which was handy for getting wifi, since the Hotel's free lobby wifi wasn't working while we were there. This was a disappointment since we are not American and have to rely on free wifi to keep in touch with home (since we're not willing to pay the ridiculous fees for wifi that hotels charge). But, I was quite happy to head over to the Starbucks and get my "fix". Also across the street was the Chinese Theater and all of the wonderful characters that go along with it.
The lobby area had beautiful leather couches and lounges to spend time in and was quite busy at night with people at the bar.
There is an amazing restaurant in the hotel called 25 degrees and their food was spectacular. I could not more highly recommend it.
Overall, I was very impressed with the hotel and would certainly stay here again.

“Excellent Staff and Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

I stayed here during Grammy weekend. I was very impressed by this hotel. I was given a suite by the pool. The view was very nice. The valet service is not cheap, but they are fast and friendly. The hotel is right where the action is in Hollywood as far as tourists go, but of course things can get a little sketchy late at night with some of the homeless if you wander a little bit away from the property. The bed was very comfy and the lighting system that they have set up in the suite is pretty nice. It's very high-tech. The room came stocked with all the premium liquors that you can think of, but I didn't bother to drink any of them. It was a very chilly weekend in LA so I didn't hang out at the pool. However, I did go to the burger restaurant that is connected to the hotel and that was excellent! There are several bars/restaurants that are part of the hotel so it is easy to get a drink or something to eat at any time. This place is more laid back than the Standard Downtown LA that I stayed at and if it was an 80+ degree day in LA, I would love to be here hanging out.

“Not so starring”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

First time in LA coming from the east coast did not find this hotel worth 400$ a night. I guess the location is what you pay for not the room. Not sure what "hollywood" expectations are.

Rooms - very bland - you don't smell the sense of cleanliness you would see in a hard rock or marriot. Need more decor, maybe thorow a couple paintings on the wall to make it look like a hotel. it looks like someones studio in la, who is a "struggling aspiring actor". Bathroom looks like a scene from a horror movie. Orange creepy light, on the east coast this hotel would not even cost $100 a night. My friends bathtub was not working and front desk girl did not offer to change her room.

Pool- best thing about the hotel, sunshine even in march. Although drinks are watered down, waitresses are nice. You will see average reality celebs lounging at the pool as well.

if you rent a car the parking is about 35 a night. Location is cool, right in front of the chinese theatre that does movie premieres. The area is full of bums at night so be careful as they attack you for money. Not far from the hollywood sign.

it's a good hotel for a center location, and possibly pool parties in the summer.

“If you want to relax by a pool stay somewhere else”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

I stayed here in September 2011. After months of travel I chose this hotel to catch up with my husband and have a relaxing break by a pool for a week. The weather was hot. The hotel has a beautiful pool but we were not able to use it. There were many pool functions booked and it was impossible to get a seat by the pool. I was very disappointed and felt that people staying in the hotel should get preference over people off the street who pay to come to a pool party.
Other than that the hotel was fabulous.

“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

I was told that the Roosevelt it's just for famous people but last night I felt like one! My friends and I went there without a reservation which was great because we didn't need one. We had dinner at Public Kitchen & Bar. Our server Sergio made us feel like stars, great personality! He was great! He recommended good dishes. Kale Salad and King Salmon was DELICIOUS!! I definitely will come back!
