I will start with a positive. The location is fantastic! Right next to Hollywood Highland Shopping Centre (which was awesome!).

DO NOT stay in room 101. We stayed two nights and were kept awake all night by either loud people outside (granted, the hotel can't help loud people - but should maybe invest in double glazed windows for rooms on that side of the hotel) AND also there is a garage directly underneath where the door opens and closes basically every minute. Very loud and disturbing.

The bed was big, but very saggy.

The breakfast was OK. Only 3 or 4 tables though so you had to share a table with other guests at the hotel....

Probably wouldn't stay here again, it is fairly expensive for not much....

Room Tip: Do not stay in room 101, and try to avoid rooms at the front of the Hotel due to noise.

Dear Bazinga22,

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to write a review. I am sad to hear that you did not enjoy your stay.

As you mentioned, our location is fantastic being right next door to the Hollywood & Highland Center (shopping, restaurants, nightclubs, great view of the Hollywood sign) and sharing the block with the Dolby Theater (home of the Academy Awards & IRIS, Cirque Du Soleil), Grauman's Chinese Theater (where you can view the hand/footprints of Hollywood's legends), the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, Hard Rock Hollywood Cafe (which has live music on the weekends), the Metro station, El Capitan Theater (which hosts Jimmy Kimmel Live). Also, we are within close walking distance to the Hollywood Bowl, the Magic Castle, Yamashiro's Restaurant, the Roosevelt Hotel and only one subway stop away from Universal Studios, City Walk and the Pantages Theater.

You are correct that we cannot control people who may be talking loudly on the sidewalk but we would have been happy to speak to them about disturbing you or to have moved you to another room had you asked and if one was available as our guest's comfort is paramount to us and we strive to insure that their stay is enjoyable. We have upgraded our rooms to double glazed windows already. We have just installed split air-condition/heating systems in the rooms facing the street for better soundproofing but at your suggestion will take a closer look to see if there are additional measures we can take. Furthermore, we have an ongoing replacement schedule for our mattresses and we appreciate your letting us know about room 101 as it is now on the list for the next replacement. For breakfast, you may not have been aware that we have additional seating on our front patio, pool side, and our rooftop garden and we provide trays so that you can take your selection back to your room which has a dining table.

We do hope that you will change your mind about staying with us again when you visit Hollywood as we offer the best value for the area and will be pleased to work with you to make sure you get a room that you will be happy with.

Warm regards,

Sandra Hausaman, Manager

We stayed 4 nights in this hotel and everything was awesome!! First they upgraded us to a better room for the same cost. The room was great, just like a mini apartment with all you may need to cook and have a pleasent stay.
Lots of room to store your bags and shoppings.
For us the breakfast was perfect, they had cereal, bagels, muffins, oatmel, cream cheese, fruit, etc.
The hotel is just come steps away from Highland mall, right there on hollywood blvd and a metro station.
It was also easy for us to arrive in the car, just by following google instructions.
I would hesitate to come back to this nice hotel!

I stayed in a 2 bedroom/2 bath suite with a full kitchen, bath, living room, and a large nicely appointed living room.

The staff was great! The location is EXCELLENT!

I've stayed her a few times and each time it was excellent.

Right through the parking lot is the rear entrance to the Kodak Theater..

Room Tip: Superb value! If you want to be in the thick of things, this location is totally awesome!

Stayed here for two nights in November 2012. Was upgraded to what can only be described as a one bedroom apartment, with two televisions and a king size bed. The Hotel is a bit dated but is clean, comfortable and and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Fantastic location with everything that is Hollywood at your fingertips.

Stayed here for three nights at start of our 4 week trip around the USA.Perfectly located right behind Hollywood and Highland centre which is right above the Metro station so train trip to Universal Studios is only one stop away.
Had nice room at the rear on level two which was quiet as no one could walk past door.
Breakfast was fine as we not really a hot food breakfast type so enough cereal, toast yogurt and fruit to get us started.
Staff were very nice ,rooms kept clean and this will always be our first choice when whenever we plan to be in LA/ Hollywood.

My wife and I really felt at home staying in the Orchid Suites for 6 days 5 nights. It was like going back to one's own apartment each night after a long day's exploration of L.A. The staff are all very polite and helpful.
The lady at the counter (sorry, forgot to ask her name) lended us 2 tap cards knowing that we would be using the Metro rails and buses most of the time, which proved to be very useful and saved us lots of money.
Special thanks to Patricia, the lady serving us at breakfast every morning. She was very attentive and cheerful. Talking to her in the morning really brightened up our days!
Just cross the quiet road in front of the hotel you enter the Hollywood and Highland Mall where the Dolby Theater & the Chinese Theater are. Outside the H&H Mall is the happening Hollywood Blvd with all the famous tourist attractions such as the Walk of Fame, El Capitan Teater, Egyptian Theater and Hollywood Museum.
This hotel is your best choice if you wish to explore Hollywood and its neighboring areas with public transportation because the Metro train and bus stations are all within walking distance!

Room Tip: Ask for the room at the back of the hotel. We had quality sleep every night because we asked!

Very close to touristy and shopping areas. I'm glad we decided to stay in this hotel for 2 nights in December 2012. Clean and spacious room. friendly staff, breakfast included. Although the room is not sound proof, this to me is not a major issue. I would still recommend this hotel to friends.
