I stayed here for three nights with my partner and two friends as part of a trip around California. We were all really impressed with the hotel. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, willing to give advice on where to go to get best sights, restaurants, etc. Our initial room overlooked the road, and we were given a selection of quieter rooms to choose from. The rooms were spacious and spotless, and the hotel has a lovely pool area for relaxing in the evening time. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but the hotel has a great bar with outside seating area. The hotel is right beside the walk of fame and the Hollywood/Highland shops, but LA is so spread out that travel is needed for some sights. Griffith Park Observatory was only a 10-minute drive and well worth it for the views. The bus to Beverly Hills was about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. We socialised on Santa Monica Boulevard at nighttime, and a taxi cost about $15. I would highly recommend this hotel, and I would definitely stay there again.

We just returned from a 4 night (June 2-6) stay at the Hollywood Heights Hotel and our entire experience was very good. I got the hotel through a Priceline.com bid. We took the Super Shuttle from LAX, and they dropped us off right at the front door for $15 per person each way. I recommend this service as it was fast and efficient. Once at the hotel, you are within walking distance of everything. As stated in other reviews, the subway station is 2 blocks away at the Hollywood and Highland complex (subway fare is $1.25 per ride). The room was perhaps a little bit small, but the bed was very comfortable and the plasma screen TV was a nice touch. We never actually got to use the pool or hot tub, but we constantly saw employees keeping the area neat and tidy and it looked decent. As others have said, the hotel staff really do go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. We usually stay in larger hotels that don't have the personal touch that the Hollywood Heights gives you. Staff were always friendly and seemed genuinely willing to offer assistance. We had a room that faced the pool and never once got disturbed by traffic or other guests. Right across the road there is a 24 hour Subway which serves up tasty $5 subs. In the same plaza there is also a Starbucks, pizza shop, and variety/grocery/drug store. We also rented a car one day from the Hertz desk at the Renaissance Hotel located a block away. Going to Universal Studios is easy on the subway (one stop away) and makes for a fun day. I would not recommend the Kodak Theatre tour as the building is under rennovations and you don't really see anything except the lobby and a quick view from an upper balcony. Jimmy Kimmel tapes his show right across from the Kodak Theatre and it is a great experience. You can request free tickets online at www.1iota.com. To sum things up, the hotel is nice, staff are excellent, and located in a great spot. I would recomment it for tourists seeking a comfortable room while being close to all the exciting activities that L.A. has to offer.

Hollywood isnt the greatest place, but it was a place I always wanted to visit, so I did. Getting to Hollywood in peak hour traffic is a nightmare. Once we arrived, the Hotel was very nice. Not a huge hotel, but great value and nice rooms, good service and great location. 1 block from Hollywood Blvd, 2 blocks from Sunset Blvd, Shopping, train, Universal Studios are all close by. You can walk down to the shops and get one of the many tours to the Hollywood Sign, and celebrity houses etc... Also theres a few good nightclubs in the area, Avalon would be my favourite. 10 min cab ride to the other nightclub area on Sunset Blvd, where you can find Roxy and the Viper Room. Overall great hotel, Has bottle shops, Subway, Market across the road

Stayed at the Hollywood Heights May 11th - 15th. Great location for seeing things in Hollywood. Mann's Chinese Theater is two blocks away. Plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance.

Hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel itself is adequate. Rooms are nice, but have very loud AC units. Pool is small and located in the parking lot, so not very relaxing. Make sure to ask for a room on the pool side, traffic on Highland ave is very loud.

Restaurant was closed for rennovations, but looks like it will be nice when completed.

Parking is $20.00 (self park) $22.00 valet. Did not have any problems with self park.

Not the greatest hotel I have stayed in, but the staff and location make up for some of what the hotel lacks.

Hotel was above average and resonably good value. Staff were very helpful, and rooms quite good. Internet in room by cable was a big plus. Location is good, just two blocks from Blvd.
