“Not bad...but not great.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2014

I stay in this general area as it's convenient for my business.
Hotel is dated. Decor and bathrooms etc.
Air con was noisey. Had it turned off for my 4 night stay.
Bar area a bit dull.
Pool area doesn't get the afternoon sun.
Valet only parking - $35 USD per day

Alfonso in the kitchen did make an amazing eggs benedict but with salsa verde. SOOO GOOD!
And actually the positive for this hotel - all the staff were great and super friendly. Can't fault that.

Overall, pricey for what you get. Guess it's the location, which for tourists is probably fun.
Just that I needed it for business and it's not a business-class hotel - at those prices.

Thanks for choosing our hotel while visitng Hollywood. We appreciate your business in addition to the time you took to share your feedback from your recent stay. Service is truly our passion and I was thrilled to read your comments regarding our Team! (Great and Super Friendly). I will pass your kind comments to Alfonso and I am sure he will be thrilled to hear such great comments. Also, our hotel was recently converted from a boutique hotel in 2012 and all the furniture are new. We apologize if the decor did not meet your standards. We appreciate your loyalty and look forward to your future returns.

We chose this property due to its proximity to the Hollywood Bowl, a few blocks up the road, and it was perfect - no traffic hassles before or after the concert. It's also very close to Hollywood Boulevard tourist attractions. It is a pretty basic motel, well-kept and with a very comfortable bed. Our room faced the pool and parking lot on the back side, so we had no traffic noise, not sure how it is on the front side. The bathroom offered plenty of counter space and good lighting; the shower was weak. Oddly, the bathroom had a heavy fire door that closed automatically, a bit annoying. WiFi is free but you have to pay for a faster connection. There is a restaurant on site which we didn't try, serving breakfast and dinner (Starbucks is a block away, across the street). A nice plus was the coin-operated washer and dryer on the second floor. Parking is valet only, $32 per night, so figure that into your room cost if you have a car. Service was prompt and friendly.

Thanks for choosing the Hilton Garden Inn LA Hollywood on your recent trip to Hollywood. We appreciate your business in addition to the time you took to share your feedback with the Trip Advisor community. I was thrilled to read you enjoyed so many aspects of our property from our location-its proximity to the Hollywood Bowl, complimentary wifi, large bathroom counter space, and good lighting. It unfortunate you did get to enjoy the restaurant or lounge on property. We hope you return back for your next concert. If you do, show the bartender your Hollywood Bowl ticket for that day and you will get a discount for your meal and drink, the same night. We wish you safe travels and a look forward to your return. Happy Summer!

We had low expectations of this hotel given it is quite a budget chain but it is by far the stand out hotel in terms of service of our whole west coast trip. The front desk staff couldn't do enough in terms of booking taxis, giving us tips for universal studios and discount coupons. The service that stands out though is when we were checking out and a guy next to us had left his phone in a taxi, not only did the receptionist ring the taxi firm but she then agreed to drive and pick the guys phone up for him!
In addition it's a great location 5 minutes from hollywood and highland center with lots of shops and restaurants, the walk of fame, chinese theater etc. Rooms were a good size and very clean.
Only disappointment of the hotel was the pool was in the shade for most of the afternoon.

Great place for Hollywood Bowl concerts. Easy 10 minute walk to Bowl and back. Comfortable rooms, quiet, and great service for breakfast (only meal we ate). Other nearby hotels are cheaper, but this is worth the price. Great stay!

As others have written this is a fantastic location if you are going to the Hollywood Bowl as you can walk right to it. The hotel is on the older side and it is starting to show...rooms need paint...crack in the sink. The bed was very comfortable, however the frame was larger than the mattress and a bit big for the room and I walked into it a few times. But it is very clean and the service was mostly good. We had a room facing the pool (as suggested by other reviewers so road noise wasn't an issue. The walls are thin and people came into their rooms at our bedtime and it was fairly noisy. Luckily they quieted down quickly but I guess it could be an issue. One suggestion is that they have hot tea/ coffee in the lobby in the evening as they did at breakfast time as they didn't have many choices of pods for Keurigs in the room. I wanted decaf tea and they didn't have any and didn't offer any. Overall we were very pleased because you can't beat proximity to the Bowl. It is pricey but you pay for location.

This location is great for tourist planning to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame and going to the Hollywood bowl for a concert. The rooms are a little dated and the hot tub had a foul smell. Free WiFi with a good signal. This hotel did not meet other Hilton Garden Inn quality as expected. The hotel was very helpful coordinating and setting up tourist bus tours.

Jennifer, we are thrilled to be your first review on Trip Advisor!

Thank you for your feedback from your recent stay with us.

I am sorry you did not have an enjoyable experience at our hotel, due to the smell from the hot tub. Our staff takes great pride in maintaining the property and it seems like they missed this area. I can assure you that this is not the norm. It was good to hear that you enjoyed the free wifi with good signal. We are truly disappointed that we only got a 2 on your rating. I would love to further speak with you about the areas that we did not meet in compared to the quality of other Hilton Garden Inn brands. Please email me at your earliest convenience, mike.domingo@hilton.com.

If you are looking for a hotel near the Hollywood Bowl, this is a good choice. Easy in/out and a short walk. Much nicer than trying to park for an event when you end up walking just as far as this hotel. Yes, you have to pay to valet park your car here, but it is still cheaper than parking for the events at the bowl. If you are not going to a concert, then I'd chose something nicer and less chain like.

Thanks for choosing the Hilton Garden Inn LA Hollywood on your recent trip to area. We appreciate your business in addition to the time you took to share your feedback with the Trip Advisor community. I was thrilled to read you stayed with us while attending the concert at the Hollywood Bowl! We are approx a 10 minute walk, but more importantly is that we are the closest restaurant and lounge to the Hollywood Bowl. On your next concert show the bartenders/servers your Hollywood Bowl ticket and you will receive a discount for your meal and drink. We wish you safe travels and a prompt return. Happy Summer!
