After reading many reviews here at TA, I was not expecting greatness, but for the most part, a more than acceptable place close to everything, at a reasonable price. I was very pleasantly surprised! Although the hotel is older (I think previously the historic Franklin Hotel), it was in great shape. On approach the exterior was questionable, and the area, coming from little Carson City, was a bit overwhelming. However, we were warmly welcomed by the front desk staff, and they were extremely helpful. As I got to my room, which was located on the Franklin Street side (I read was a no no), however, I loved the view of the city (especially at night), and since it was very warm, we had the air conditioner on, and it seemed to drown out the traffic noise. The room was recently upgraded, and just lovely. Very large, fridge, coffee maker...loved the old Hollywood glam pictures on the wall! The bathroom was great with double sinks, marble, large closet, lovely marble shower (no tub). Parking under the hotel seemed safe and well lit; However, not enough space for everyone! I will definately be back!
