The primary purpose of the trip was a professional meeting for my spouse. The primary purpose of my part of the trip was to have fun. There are a group of us that travel to these meetings as companions and we were never idle. Los Angeles has much to offer...the hotel was very good which added to our good stay.

the hotel is in a very good location...we rented a car (Enterprise) and traveled around the area. The Huntington Gardens, Library, museum, were very special...as well as Santa Monica Pier, Warner Brothers tour, Getty. The hotel was very helpful is helping us find easy ways to get around.

Our meals were furnished through the conference so everything was mostly buffet style. The wait staff at the meals were very courtious and went out of their way to make sure we had what we wanted.

The pool area is good but there are large buildings that block out the sun in the afternoon. It was cool while we were there so we needed to reposition our chairs around where the sun was shining.

All in all a very good stay...

A very nice hotel. Our room had a great view looking west. Located just a short drive to Beverly Hills, UCLA, West Hollywood, etc. The area around the hotel looks like a financial/business district, a lot of very large office buildings. The adjacent outdoor shopping mall has up-market stores and restaurants, movie theater. If you need a nice place to stay within driving distance of Hollywood/Beverly Hills attractions, this is a great choice. I got a terrific room rate by bidding on Priceline, but parking is expensive. They were filming an episode of Monk in the lobby of the hotel when we were there... a real L.A. experience!

I found the best rate/offer by calling this hotel directly and asking if they had any deals or promotions for AAA members. For staying 1 night we got 4 free hot buffet breakfasts and free valet parking. Valet parking here is around $35/night so the free breakfasts and the free parking sealed the deal.
I stayed here several years ago when it was a Westin and Hyatt has made some nice upgrades to the lobby and the guest rooms.
But some minor things are still the same - they seem to always run short on pool towels by the afternoon and it seems to take an unusually long time to get more. The other thing is that this hotel has many extra fees. The business center wanted $5 for 15 minutes of internet time. Much smaller hotels have free internet access in their business centers. Also, be sure not to bump into the mini bar's food and drinks as the hotel could charge you even if the food was moved but not consumed - fortunately my young son didn't see the mini bar til just before we left....
Overall the pluses vastly outweigh the minuses as the breakfast buffet was excellent, the main pool was clean with many pool chairs available, the rooms were clean, bathrooms were modern and large, and the beds were very comfortable.

I stay at this hotel several times a year because it is the most convenient for my business meetings in LA. It's reliable from a consistency of room quality and service standpoint, and I've always been able to check in early (often before noon) with no hassles. mid week pricing varies widely depending on what else they have going on - I've payed less than $200 and well over $400 for the same room depending on the trip. hotel has a nice pool, good running routes nearby and is easy to get to from LAX. Dining in the hotel is good but pricey, however you can easily walk over to 2000 ave of stars for breakfast or lunch options, or down the street to the westfield mall for dinner. Valet is mandatory, but it is quick and has in / out option which is nice. I hate to get nickel and dimed for things like a USA Today, internet service, etc., but I realize they're not unique in these things.

My fiance and I stayed here for a week. The hotel property is very well maintained. However, they should have spent less on their decorator and more on their guests. No in room coffee maker, and you received one towel set per day - even if the towels had make up stains and were left on the floor for them to collect and wash - they were refolded for you to use. I called and asked for clean towels at 5:00 pm they didn't arrive until 10:00pm. The ice bucket is more like a mug, and they only provide one water glass. The noise level in the hotel is very high. The taxi line in front of the hotel is loud even at 2 am - with many curse words shouted in many languages. This hotel is in the middle of office complexes, but it is nice to have the Westfield Mall with a Gelson's market within walking distance. You can walk to Rodeo drive, it's about 3 miles round trip. By the end of the week I felt like I was in a concrete and glass prison. Not recommended for anyone but a business traveler (although internet access is $10 a day) on a short stay. Valet parking is $33 a day.
