“Nice but expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

I booked my stay here on points so I didn't pay for the room. If you want in and out privileges with your car you need to pay $36 for valet, which then forces you to tip every time you get your car (if you're not a jerk). Internet is also not included so you ended up paying for that daily as well. I couldn't imagine paying close to $300 a night and not get internet included with my room.

That said, the hotel is very nice. The rooms are impeccable and the beds are luxurious. I had a great view of the mountains outside my window.

The staff were courteous and when I was charged for the mini bar I did not use they removed it from my bill no questions asked.

Overall, it's super nice and if you can afford it then definitely stay here.

This is not only the worst Hyatt we have ever stayed in but the worst hotel. We booked a club room and to our amazement when we checked in the rate had apparently increased by more then $150 per night. After a long day of travel from Las Vegas we gave up arguing with the checkin staff and just accepted the price rise so we could get our key and head to our room. The room was very basic, a/c rattled and shook so lucky we had spare ear plugs. Bathroom basic and old and toiletries were very interesting a one cake of mini hotel soap, shampoo and conditioner and that was it. We have stayed in many club rooms over the years but were amazed to find that the club room here was tucked away on the ground floor with no view outside and then to our amazement you had to pay for every drink you had. Canapes we decided was dry old reinvented food from the restaurant. Absolutely terrible. The service is non existent we carried our bags in and up to our room and back down and out of the hotel with no assistance. We would never stay here again and it was a shame that this terrible experience came at the end of such a lovely holiday in the USA.

Room Tip: There aren't any so don't bother staying in this hotel.

Green Features: There isn't one I don't think. Unless reusing old dried out food to make canapes for the club room can be classed as environmentally friendly.

I spent almost a whole week at this property for a business conference. My room was wonderful. The service provided by the hotel staff was excellent. What ruined the experience for me was the $34 breakfast buffet. There was also the $17 two eggs and bacon and let's not forget the $12.50 chocolate chip cookies in the room mini-bar. I get the fact that food is a profit center but really.

Following our disappointing experience at the Hyatt Regency in Monterey, I was pleasantly surprised from the start at the Hyatt in Los Angeles. It is set in the heart of Legal office land, and the building opposite is one of the largest Agencies for the stars. (Tom Cruise, etc). You drive up to the lobby, and the bellhops take care of the car right away.
The lobby is big, and impressive, with lots of chairs, a Starbucks, and a door that leads directly to the pool. We didn't eat at the hotel.
The Reception Staff are efficient and helpful, the Concierge in particular gave us some valuable tips when we went to the Getty Villa.
You are located pretty close to Beverly Hill and to Rodeo Drive; However, the Hotel is not close to downtown Los Angeles. I did not mind this as we tended to use the hop on, hop off tourist bus to get us around.

I'll tell you what is close, and very handy too- Westfield. It is a short walk across the road and you find yourself in shopping heaven, in an air conditioned cocoon. There is a food court upstairs where you choose from several options, and then eat outside on one of the tables. On the Friday evening, they were screening a film for everyone in the space to watch. We chose a kebab that night, really good really cheap option. There are many other options for dinner here.

The room is a good size, and you have a balcony and a little table and chairs so that you could sit outside and look at the stars, or, failing that, you could just take in the lights of the City.My husband found the balcony a little high on the 17th floor!
They will put a fridge in the room for you, and we also requested a coffee machine with no problems.
All in all, a great experience, and we liked the location. Jayson deserves a shout out as he was very efficient. Also Corrine. Thanks for restoring my faith in Hyatt!

Room Tip: Lovely views over the Avenue of the Stars, but high!

We recently enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt. We loved the location in Century City, and the adjacent mall for my daughters. We used the pool, weight room, and the Concierge room, which was a great lifesaver, for our extended family of 8. The only negative sould be one sink in the bathroom, and outdated shower.

This hotel is still going through a multi million dollar renovation, but you wouldn't know it. No disruptions in amazing detail of service, from the minute you pull under the marquee out front. Rooms are very spacious and nicely appointed. The lobby restaurant and bar is great, servers are extremely friendly and knowledgable of the city's attractions is first rate. Swimming pool outside.
Handy souvenir shop in lobby, nicely priced item. Recommend this highly...........the brunch was spectacular.......large variety of fresh fruits and made to order eggs.

Room Tip: Above 4th floor........quieter

Nice hotel located on the Avenue of Stars Road, however not much around except for Westfield shopping centre. Room nicely furnished and quiet. Only complaint was charges logged against our mini bar and Starbucks Shop in foyer which we had not touched, and queried at check out, however on arrival home our visa account had been charged. After attempts to contact the hotel, with no success, finally had to go through head office where we got some action. It was only a $25 amount, but annoying that to get the credit took so much time & effort to get the matter settled. Beware of MIni Bars, as I am told they now have sensors which can run you up a bill, just by touching the containers.

Room Tip: Rooms at rear have a better view than those in front.
