“Very Nice besides the Parking Situation (found a lot that was 5-10min walk for $18)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

My stay at the hotel was really nice - the rooms were good (but a bit small), the lobby and pool were quite nice and it looks like the restaurants were probably good as well (we didnt eat there).

BUT the $36 parking was not fun to discover, but we knew we were going to try to find another option. This area is generally the mall, the hotel, office buildings, and corporate campuses - it's nice, but there's no street parking.

Luckily we found a parking lot that was only a short walk away - like 5-10 mins. It had some hourly rate, but we just parked overnight and paid the max fee, which was $18. There's no in/out privileges as this is just a plain old parking lot with no attendant, so we made sure to throw any valuables, etc. in the trunk. The lot is on the other side of the Century Plaza towers from the hotel - it's on Century Park East between Constellation Blvd and Olympic Blvd. We were really glad to find the lot but it took a bit of searching - overall we saved $36 (for 2 nights) and it was only a pretty short walk.

Stayed to attend a conference being held at the hotel. Arrival experience was great. Valet's were quick to assis as soon as I pulled up to the driveway. You have the option of doing the self serve check-in, but I opted for the face-face interaction with an agent. Was given an option of a King bed with a street view, or a dbl/dbl with a view of the pool. Chose the view as I was only there for a couple of nights.

Room service as ok, but the food andservice at the restaurant for breakfast was better than expected. Large outdoor pool and with plenty of lounge chairs, Front desk was very flexible with extending my checkout so that I can relax in the outdoor pool before I left.

Would have been a 5 star review if it wasn't for the very long wait to have my car brought up. There was an event that had just finished and there was a long queue at the driveway. There weren`t enough valets on duty at that time, and there were customers who requested their cars brought up after I gave my ticket to the booth, who for some reason were getting their cars brought up before mine.

I suggest calling for your car well ahead of time (30 minutes) to avoid this, or doing self parking.

Shopping mall across the street, and Starbucks in the lobby.

Plenty of staff in the lobby offering assistance with luggage, directions, etc...

Will stay here again when in LA.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view of the outdoor pool

I had a presentation across the street from they Hyatt, so the hotel turned out to be a great location. I was on the 7th floor in a king bedroom which was spacious and clean. I took the opportunity to have dinner at the hotel restaurant, and I have to say their tap water is the best tasting that I've ever had. It was very refreshing. I didn't take advantage of it at the time, but you can apparently take the sight seeing tours from right there at the hotel. Best of all, they have a starbucks downstairs in the lobby, the only downside being that it closes early. There is also an underground tunnel that takes you across the street to the Tower Building.

I work across from this hotel and finally had the pleasure of staying there for one night and it was fantastic. We were on the 18th floor and the room was newly renovated and felt and looked luxurious. Here are a few insider tips:

Tunnel: if you go to the lower level below the lobby, there is an underground tunnel that will take you under the street to the towers (Century Park).

Century Park: As noted, you can take the tunnel across to this area. There is the Annenberg Space for Photography and also some restaurants (all open during M-F business hours only). If you are there during the week, go to Trimana that is in the basement of the South Tower and get the Jalepano Cheese bagel. It is the best one I’ve ever had and get it a couple of times a week. There is also a dry cleaner, convenience store and Starbucks in that same tower basement.

Parking: You can park across the street at 2000 Avenue of the Stars (building with the whole in middle) for $10 a day including tax. So, for one night at the hotel we paid $20 total instead of the hotel’s $28 + tax. Again, the tunnel will take you from this building to the hotel.

Overall, a fantastic hotel!

I stayed at the Hyatt for the weekend and it was close to a disaster. The staff was very slow and every time I was inconvenienced I was offered a free ticket for the breakfast buffet. (The best part about the hotel) The rooms were just ok. I saw dust everywhere which was a little disturbing. The pool was nice until I saw a dog jump in, ewww. The parking situation is a disaster..$36 for valet or $28 for self park. Keep in mind there is NOWHERE else to park besides at the mall. (First 3 hours are free) On top of the overpriced valet fees upon checkout it took them over an hour to find my car and the keys. Needless to say this hotel is close to Hollywood but it is less than glamorous.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool have a great balcony

We stayed here for 5 days in July. Beds were very comfortable, bathrooms nice, and clean. Was surprised being across from elevators that I was not bothered by any noise. Staff was very courteous. Offers a variety of small pools for the little ones, and a large for adults, as well as a hot tub. Would have liked to have had a refridgerator in the room, (did have a consierge one in room.) although I could have rented one for an additional cost, had there been any available. Was shocked that we had to pay for internet service (unless your in lobby) as most places include this now a days. Parking was also not included, nor was the fitness room ~ Hotel a la carte :) There is a very nice mall within walking distance, fabulous food court, and nice vareity of stores. Starbucks is in the hotel for conveniece, spa services also a nice plus.

Room Tip: Did not have pool view, would have chosen that if there were any rooms available on that side. Alt...
