The staff at the Century City Hyatt make this a delightful place to stay. The service is highly professional and very attentive to detail. Every single interaction was delightful. The rooms are also large, very clean and well appointed. I very much enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the sunset in the evenings. I was at the hotel for a conference and the meals at the conference were defintely well above average. The only thing I could really find any fault with was that the price was high (over $300 / night), however this is Los Angeles and this is a prime location.

Great hotel, great staff, great location and the price tage to go with it.

  • Liked — Terrific Service; everyone in the hotel was delightful to deal with
  • Disliked — The room rates are high, but it is a great hotel in a great location

I have been staying at this hotel on and off for many years now and one of the most amazing things about it is the number of long-term staff here who seem able to effortlessly remember you year after year and make your stay more than a transaction.. Really, this is amazing, as they must see thousands upon thopusands of people week in, week out.. It really is a relationship based atmosphere there and it really is a constant in a world of change.. The staff have seen a number of chains run the place and remain through thisck and thin.. Sure there are minor niggles now and again.. aren't there with all hotels.. and things can go wrong from time to time.. But I have always had a proper response to issues.. Certainly, if you're planning on staying here in the foreseeable future, make sure you have a room at the northern end of the property to be away from the construction site that now occupies the site of the former (doomed?) St Regis Hotel.. It can start up early.. Call in advance..

  • Liked — Effortless and casual but styllish also
  • Disliked — nothing

I stayed here for a conference, meaning I didn't pay for it (that kind of money belongs in my kids' college account, not a hotel chain). Staff are delightful, from room service to housekeeping to front desk. Really great room: large, super comfortable bed, small but okay bathroom. THANK YOU for covering the unhygenic bedspread with a freshly laundered duvet cover. I wish every 4-star hotel was doing this by now (just stayed at Omni-CNN Atlanta, and they still don't). I appreciated the makeup mirror, but found the hotel toiletries to be too strongly scented for my taste (some of us have fragrance allergies, hello people!). Cute balcony overlooking the bank building across the street, but after five minutes the Santa Anna winds sent me inside with an allergy attack, so not much use to anybody.

The real kicker (and my kids really laughed at me later) was that I was starving on arrival and couldn't find a restaurant in my price range in the hotel (there is a mall nearby, I just didn't know about it yet). So I ordered a $19 room service pizza which came with another $10 of taxes, service fees, and other charges. So I ate a $30 pizza. Will never hear the end of it from my kids. And will probably never stay here again, but it was nice while it lasted.

I stayed here for business and was very happy with the quality of the hotel.

Check in was easy and the staff very welcoming. There is a Starbucks in the lobby of the hotel which was great to pick up a coffee for the walk to the office in the morning.

The rooms aren't large but the furnishings very modern and comfortable.

I was supposed to stay 2 nights but my meetings were cancelled and therefore only stayed 1. There was no problem at all checking out early, and I was not charged a cancellation fee or the second night's rate, despite giving the hotel less than 24 hours notice, as their policy states. I was very impressed that the hotel did not try to 'double dip'.

Century Plaza was wonderful. I arrived late and asked to have a colleague able to check into my room for me. WhenI spoke to the front desk to follow up, as soon as I gave my name, without looking at my record, the front desk agent said "Oh, your colleague has just checked in." That is some good service. Throughout my short stay, the front desk offered amazing service.

However, the hotel restaurant falls short of expectation. The food alternated between high quality and mediocre, but the service was slow and the staff seemed confused.
