“Dull”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2006

This hotel is standard business hotel. It's in a fairly dull location, the rooms are spacious and clean, but there is nothing to get excited about at all. The hotel staff when we stayed there were extremely helpful and friendly and added to the hotel, but as hotels go it's good value for money, but dull.

Good things in this hotel: good location, helpful staff and comfy bed. Free wifi.

Not-so-good things: the noise from the hallway is loud!! wakes me up whenever anyone speaks outside. Avoid adjoining rooms as there is also a noise problem here. Had one to begin with and asked to change after I could hear ever word of the next door neighbour's conversation, and they weren't even speaking loudly. Food is not so good and overpriced (go elsewhere). Had forgotten my phone charger and when I phoned the concierge for one they didn't have any. Now, this happened to me before and at any other halfway decent hotel I have stayed in (particularly ones that cater to business) they always have extras. To me, this is not great.

Overall verdict: if you are on a budget, and are not going to spend much time in your hotel room, this place is okay. It is quite basic. However, if you are looking for something a little more special, I would pass. Am only staying here because someone else is paying - if I had my own choice I would stay somewhere else.

This is the first time that I have seen the benefits of the Priority Club (InterContinental Hotels) membership...with a great room and free Continental breakfast.

The staff were helpful (especially in the bar area)and friendly.

Parking is pretty reasonably priced (for LA) and the bar food was good.

Priority club rooms were excellent and the hotel is pretty close to Rodeo Drive and selection of restaurants (I would recommend Mulberry Street Pizzeria north of the hotel).

Can't say enough about the professionalism and courtesy of the staff. From the concierge to the doorman to the housekeeping staff, every employee we encountered was exceptionally polite and helpful. This greatly enhanced my family's first trip to LA, as we were concerned beforehand about the city's reputation for snobby and boorish behavior...But there was nothing at all special about the physical condition and amenities of the hotel. Our room was small and uninspired. The common areas seemed uninviting. The parking garage is cramped and somewhat dark. The location of the hotel was borderline at best. (Don't be fooled by the "Beverly Hills" in the hotel name.) In short, from a physical perspective, the hotel is essentially a below-average Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express masquarading as a Crowne Plaza.

We stayed here for one night, got a great price on Priceline US$85. We had been at Disneyland that day & all we wanted was a comfy bed to crash in. Check-in was simple & on getting to our room we were plesently surprise to find a huge bed with big comfy pillows. They also supplied a sleep pack, relaxing CD, eye mask & lavender spray. A nice touch even though we fell asleep before the first track on the CD. The room was big, shower nice & hot. I joined the Prority Club as suggested on this website, thanks, this gave us a free breakfast in the club lounge. A good selection, only issue was the lounge was very small only 3 or 4 tables.
Over all a good experience.

Stayed two nights on way to New Zealand. Rooms a good size and comfortable. Housekeeping standards seemed fine. Reception staff were efficient but otherwise annonymous. Cocierge staff chatty and helpful organising a limo at very similar cost to a taxi.

Although located on the edge of Beverly Hills we felt quite safe in walking to coffee shops and restaurants and on to Rodeo Drive.

Suited us well as a stop over for a couple of days.

This is not at all a sophiscated hotel (as claimed) - Its a 3 star Hotel. This is an OK place to stay, adequate for 2/3 nights with clean comfortable rooms -somewhere above the level of a ++motel.

The Breakfasts are pricey, not well cooked or presented and certainly not worth the money - Denny's Diners are not worrying about this place.

The hotel does have a few professionally well trained staff but the majority are far less experienced - They are, however, always very helpful - but most of them have Spanish as their first language.

Is it me or doesn't LA actually have a Centre - the nearest we got to seeing one in the evening was the Farmers Market (there aren't any Farmers and it isn't a Market). It does have a lot of shops that stay open late and unbelievably for America lots of restaurants quite full even after 8.00 pm (decandance or what!)- reassuringly, they still didn't understand why we ordered a 2nd drink. Its well worth an evening visit.
