I reserved/prepaid a non-smoking/2 Queen bed online directly from the Travelodge site for $85+. I selected 2 adults & 2 children. Upon arriving @ the motel, the night manager asked for our ID/cc, he then proceeded to swipe the cc & had my husband sign. I have stayed in other pre-paid hotels & never had the clerk swipe my cc, only check to see if the id/cc matched the reservation. I asked for a receipt, he said 1 will be given @ checkout. We went back to the car, got our bags & coming back in noticed 2 flipped-over roaches in the lobby near the pamphlets & one in the elevator. Upon entering the room, we noticed a "handicap assistance" buzzer outside of the room next to our door. (This was later pushed 2x throughout the night waking us up with a flashing red light & a 10 sec loud buzz similar to service elevator bell. On the 2nd time, we called down to the office & no one answered.) The room had a musty air-conditioner smell & no toilet paper, just the roll with left-over scraps. There were 2 hand towels, 2 wash clothes & 1 FULL BODY towel for 4 guests. I went down to ask for paper & additional towels, he said that he will send someone up with the paper(1 roll by the way) but towels are an additional fee. There was no sanitary plastic wrap for the ice bucket & you could tell that it had been used before. There were ants against the tub wall, the tub slowly drains & to top it off no hot water. Yup, NO HOT WATER!! There is nothing better than taking a shower @ 5am in freezing cold water & standing in it too. The water knob stops between cold & warm so you know its not a water heater issue, you just cannot get hot water. Oh, and the "free continental breakfast"? Cereal/warm milk in a carafe/stale, hard sliced bread/whole fruit/juice/tea/coffee/ pre-packaged muffins. In my state, it is a health code violation to serve warm milk & stale bread. To top it all off, no receipt was given to me on check out. I asked & was "read" my charges. I am currently in the process of having my cc bank look into any possible double charges.

This hotel is located just off the 210 Freeway in north Sylmar, California. I stayed here three nights and found the hotel clean with nice furniture and convenient to the Freeway, but quiet as well. There is a small pool and play area. The staff were friendly. The rate was good. Breakfast offered cereal, apples, OJ and muffins and toast.

On the Con side, there was no coffee maker, fridge or microwave in the room, and just one issue of soap and shampoo (for the two of us, which I guess is OK but modest). There is coffee in the lobby which was a short walk from our room.

Motel has been recently partially refurbished but not finished. Photos are not accurate. Not close to Magic Mountain. Signs printed on white paper mark the floor numbers and elevator. Held in place with push pins and scotch tape. Rooms almost done but microwave and refrigerator removed leaving big holes. No hair dryer or shampoo. Bathroom very nice but faucets connected backwards, good bed. No reading light on one side. Entry door had tired feeling. Elevator more like a older freight elevator but worked OK. Strange door that could cover elevator on all floors. Had to go back down to get TV remote. Was told to bring back or it would cost $20. Would not give internet password at desk. Had to call down. Continental breakfast handed from back of reception counter in white bag. Contents OK with juice carton, apple, muffin. Reception study was small with a piece of plywood over false fireplace, no flowers, decorations, magazines, etc. Would have only given one star but the room was very clean with good mattress, nice shower/bath. Motel looks to be in financial difficulty and has strange vibes to it. Check-in parking spaces were blocked by highway cones and tired ones at that.

We called and asked for two rooms next to each other as we were traveling with a group of 6 (big famiy). We were quoted one price and then charged another when we got there. Had to wait to get that resolved. Then we get to our room and find no washcloths in either room, one room had a bedspread with blood and urine on it!! We asked for that to be taken care of, and they changed the bedspread and gave us 1 washcloth for 6 people to use!!! The beds were not comfortable at all....one reviewer on thier site said they were the most comfortable ever....yeah, if you like sleeping on springs and pancakes for pillows. The TV's turn on, but don't come in clearly and the color fades in and out....out mostly. We left our stuff in the room when we went to Magic Mountain only to return and find that my son's NFL Jersey was taken from the room. We asked the maid if she saw it, she doesn't speak English. Told the front desk about it they said we had to talk to the morning crew. We spoke to morning crew who said there was nothing they could do about it and would call us if it shows up. Yeah right!!! We will never see that again. 2 rooms, 2 nights, all this mess and they still charged us almost $400.

We stayed in June of 2006 while going to magic mountain 6 flags. We were only looking for a economical room to crash after a long day at the park. The motel was fine for just that. Breakfast was basic but our children of 8,11,12 found enough to start the day. The location was ok, and we did not notice the traffic from other travelers. Diane

Priced somewhat high compared to similiar motels in the area, and no places to eat close by. The people were pleasant at check-in, and the room was clean and cozy. The pool and jacuzzi are nice. Went skinnydipping and no one seemed to care .. I thought that was pretty cool. I'll probably stay here again if I can get a better deal.

  • Liked — The pool and jacuzzi
