We want to say thanks to Brogan/Samantha for the lovely accomodations. We stayed seven nights all total, one night in the bungalow and six nights in the english suite. The bungalow worked out just fine for the five of us as it was just for one night, but would have been cramped if we had stayed for the entire duration. (I loved the bugalow very private and peaceful)
The English suite was beautiful it was like being in our own home but better. We were able to cook when we wanted everything that you needed to run a home, away from home was supplied. We came and went as we pleased, far better then anything that you would find in a hotel or condo. Absolutely wonderful!
(In saying this I would mention that there are parts of the area that you may want to be careful in.) However we were not with small children we had 17,19, & 21 year old with us. We found the location to be ideal in that it was within walking distance to alot of Hollywood and there was easy access to main highways less then two minutes away.

  • Liked — rooms were beautiful, like staying in someone's home
  • Disliked — some of the immediate area

My family stayed at the Villa Delle Stelle this summer based on Trip Advisor's rave reviews and the hotel's moderate prices. We were only permitted to stay in the detached bungalow since we were traveling with a toddler. The other suites look to be much nicer but have an adults only policy.

While the Bungalow had some positive features (i.e. a comfortable bed, a flat screened TV, and a nice, well stocked kitchen), it is in need of some renovation - particularly the bathroom with its tiny sink and mildewy shower curtain. Also, the hotel's website highlighted the bungalow's enclosed backyard patio and bbq. In reality, the patio was uninviting because the wrought iron furniture was completely rusted over.

The biggest problem, however, was the noise. On two consecutive nights there was an extremely loud party going on in a home directly behind the bungalow. On one night, the party lasted from about 2 am - 7am. In Villa Dell Stelle's defense, we were told this was first time they heard of such a complaint from a hotel guest.

If you plan on staying in this hotel, my advise is to avoid the bungalow. Stay elsewhere if traveling with young children.

Management response from VillaDelleStelle, Manager
(Management representative)

The Bungalow is more quaintly designed then some of our other suites, however, it is a unique space and has much to offer. This suite was built in 1911 and was the original house to the property. Some of the older period details, such as the bathroom and kitchen, were left in their original state as to preserve some of the history. After reading this review, we have since changed out the shower curtains and updated the private patio with new top quality furniture as well as a new deck area with an arbor.
With respect to the noise, we are located in a historic residential neighborhood tucked into a metropolitan area. This was the first time we had ever had a problem with noise from our neighbors since our opening 18 months prior. Future guests can rest assured that this is an extremely rare event.

This a perfect for small families and couples. We stayed in the English Suite", a one bedroom with kitchen, dining room and living room. The entire place is very well done. You wish your house looked like this. Parking is a pain . Do not rent a big car! I rented a PT and it was fine.

We also spent two nights in the little cottage behind the main house. It also was nice but somewhat tight for four. The neighborhood has everything you need and then some. There is a Starbuck's, drug store, Thai, Chinese, Mexican food right down the block. All the food was average. Also near by is Roscoe's Famous Fried Chicken- I am not sure it is the greatest fried chicken in the world but it was awfully good and you do see alot of pro atheletes . We also had dinner with friends at Eat on Sunset-it was good food, slow service and a weird interior courtyard. The best place we found was Off-Vine which is about a 15 minute walk. Very good food and a pretty romantic setting.

Brogan and Samantha are a fountain of knowledge and can steer you in the right direction on LA subjects- if only they served a big breakfast!

  • Liked — It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable.
  • Disliked — Tough parking.

I have stayed at many 5-Star hotels and resorts around the United States and Canada, and whenever I need accommodations in the Los Angeles area, I check availability at Villa Delle Stelle first! I can't tell you how wonderful it is to not deal with parking issues and constantly reaching in my wallet for tips, but knowing that it feels like a "home away from home". I have stayed in the Parisian and Art Deco suites and the Bungalow...all are fabulous...but I really enjoyed the Parisian the most. I love feeling like I'm in my own apartment and can bring in take-out, sit down at the dining table, read my book and relax after a long day running around the hectic city. I have stayed just a few nights and up to two weeks at a time. Samantha is lovely, helpful and always responds quickly to anything you need! If you want people waiting on you hand and foot, this isn't the place for you...but if you want something wonderfully quiet, private, beautiful and comfortable, you should consider this location. Remember...it's not a hotel and you don't have maid service daily, but you also have the relaxed privacy you don't get anywhere else!

  • Liked — That it is like my "home away from home"...love it!
  • Disliked — Nothing comes to mind

We just returned from our visit to LA where we were fortunate enough to stay at Ville Delle Stelle for 4 nights. Most of you will agree, our biggest concern about booking a hotel 1700 miles from home is that you hope it's not a "roach motel" or in a horrible location, etc. etc. Ville Delle Stelle is the furthest from either of these two descriptions.

We stayed in the Art Deco Suite. Couldn't have been more comfortable and relaxing at the end of a long day of sightseeing. We traveled with our two early 20's daughters. There was plenty enough room for everyone to stretch out and relax. The decor is comfortable, yet very chic. One thing the website does not mention is the huge, flatscreen television with satellite TV in the master bedroom. Awesome feature.

We also rented a blue mustang convertible for our trip and were able to park it right in front (off street) of our suite. This suite has big, screened windows in the master bedroom that in the evenings you open and get the most relaxing breeze through the entire suite.

Just as they describe the suites on the website, are exactly what you get when you get there. They were most helpful in helping us to find transportation from the airport to the hotel (recommended because it's not so easy to find when you don't know where you're going and the Budget Car Rental is less than a mile from the hotel, so the next morning we walked there and got our car for the rest of the weekend).

The full kitchen is fully stocked with all the cooking utensils you might want. Although we did not cook, they do have a coffee press in the room and had Starbucks coffee and the fixins' waiting for us so this was nice for the mornings. They also supply you with a full array of restaurants that deliver to the area and we did use one that although the wait was long for delivery, it was hot and delicious.

All of the conveniences of home are in the unit including bath robes, hair dryers, huge, fluffy towels, etc. etc.

I just can't say enough about how very nice this place was and I hope we will visit it again soon.
