“great location and has a nice bistro inside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2014

this hotel is one of the newer (or newly remodeled) ones on the blvd. the check in was quick and the room was clean. The TV had pay per view which curiously is harder to find. The hotel also had a gym and a nice bistro with a big TV lounge. If you eat at the bistro try the BBQ chicken flat bread and the caesar salad. The prices were high, but not much around other than fast food. There is also a small convenient store on the bottom level which was quite popular with other guests. The bistro doubles as a bar and since there was a basketball game on it was popular as well. The staff seemed friendly (mainly the bistro) but the check in staff seemed tired (but that is typical of many American customer service professionals these days). Attention to detail in dress, language and service needs improvement. The bistro staff and the valet guy were quite helpful though. I would come back and again book online with expedia as the discount was about 80$. Parking is about 23$ so return your car first.

We had an early start in Europe and so were very glad to arrive at the Courtyard hotel. Friendly speedy check-in, room was large and sunny (mid afternoon) and bed was welcoming. Room was quiet (no aircraft noise) and wi-fi worked perfectly. Used the Bistro for a bite to eat in the morning (yoghurt/fruit/muffin) - no problems there.

Mistakenly, I got off at the first stop of the free shuttle service from LAX which was the Marriott with its impressive large lobby. I waited for the shuttle again to take me to the second stop which is the Courtyard property. Though smaller, the lobby is very nice, and well designed for the convenience of a traveler. In the lobby is an open 24/7 cafe, a large seating area to sit & eat, a small store that has a microwave for one to use, an area with 4 public computers for guests to use (by the front entrance), and a separate area with computers for flight check-in and print a boarding pass. The King Bed room is spacious and beautifully decorated. There is a small sofa to sit and read. The bathroom is small but shower has strong water power, but tub water drained slowly. Bed was comfortable for a good night's sleep and pillows were soft.
My room had an alley view which was not pleasing. Can hear outside noise at times.
Room has coffee maker and coffee (no tea), a small fridge, hair dryer, safe, ironing board and iron, flat panel TV with cc and sleep functions on remote and large mirror. Amenities include separate bottles of shampoo and conditioner, body lotion and soap bars. Towels are soft. I got an internet rate which was reasonably priced (add ~ 20% for taxes).
Staff was very friendly and helpful except for person at check-in. I got an excellent recommendation for a breakfast restaurant in Manhattan Beach. Valet service is nice and friendly. Shuttle service can be slow depending on the LAX traffic.

Green Features: Bed linen is changed every 3 days unless requested by guest. Daily towel service unless specified otherwise.

We were a family of 5 that used two rooms. We had an early flight and needed to be at the airport by 5:00 AM. We did not use any of the services except for the shuttle that ran 24 hours as we arrived late and had an early flight as mentioned earlier. The rooms were clean and the beds "heavenly". We would definitely stay here again should we be in LA for a connecting flight.

I'm not sure what else a person could ask for this close to LAX. Rooms are nicer than most Courtyards. Service was absolutely perfect from unloading to desk to restuarant. Price was very reasonable. I really don't understand the "overpriced" comments. Instead of using mandatory valet I returned my car because I had an early flight out. It was super easy and in the morning I can take one of the every-15-minute shuttles that go 24 hours a day. Internet is fast and free. I'm not expecting a view next to the airport and on the 4th floor I have a view of a parking garage. I'm definitely staying at the same hotel next time I need to be near LAX.

Green Features: Nothing too bold. They should work on this. I'm tired of seeing the towel signs...time for elimination of little plastic bottles, recycling in rooms, etc.

Staff was helpful, rooms were typical courtyard although seemed a bit larger given we are in the shadow of LAX. Parking was $15/night, which, given the El Segundo courtyard is free, seems a bit overpriced. My room overlooked the garbage dump.

Dear Valued Guest,

We appreciate your time and sharing your comments with us and glad to hear you noticed how spacious our guest rooms are. In fact, our updated rooms measure between 360 to 420 square feet! In comparison to other hotels at LAX, they do allow for a more comfortable environment to work and relax. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't care for the room location but also happy to know our team members were able to assist you during your stay!

Thank you for your visit and we hope to welcome you back soon!
