I went on a four day architectural tour of Los Angeles and went to all the sights I've always wanted to visit. The Farmer's Market was one of them. We were going there around 5 p.m. on a Friday and had toured Hollywood Boulevard in the morning and had lunch there. I totally forgot about going for dinner at the Market so I ate a big lunch and then remembered I shouldn't have! I did leave room for Bennett's homemade ice cream though. They only have the pumpkin ice cream which has been mentioned on a few posts during the holidays. So I sampled the salted caramel which was also written up and wound up with Everything Chocolate - chocolate ice cream with chocolate chunks and some fudge ripple and it was divine. It is $4.00 for a small scoop and after I walked around, I was tempted to get another one as it wasn't enough, but I didn't give in. If I had been able to eat more, I definitely would have gone to iLoteria! Grill for Mexican food. Some of the folks on the tour went there and said it was delicious. Another person's favorite is the Gumbo Pot. Bryan's Pit Barbecue smelled delicious and there was a line there. Phil's Deli was also busy. I hate to say it, but I can understand why some people weren't all that impressed with the Farmer's Market. We had 2 1/2 hours there which was too long, so I walked over to The Grove which is right there. You just cross a small street. Still it's worth a visit, especially if you go to The Grove too.
