“everything's good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2011

If this place were near my home, I could easily be 300 pounds today. Their congee is great, as are noodle soups. The only complaint I have is that they are cash only, but then many places in China Town are that way.

Fabulous, fresh, plentiful and cheap. One of the most authentic Chinese restaurants this side of the Pacific -- San Gabriel and environs notwithstanding. The menu is replete with barbecued meats and other center plate items in a myriad of combinations, some components and preparations rarely – if ever – seen in restaurants not catering exclusively to the Chinese. They don’t take reservations, so one can read the menu while waiting for a table; I’ve never had more than a 20-minute wait and the first pass could take at least that. The continuous stream of predominantly Asian diners is a good indicator of authenticity and quality. Servers in perpetual motion work tables of 10+ as casually as 2- or 4-top, and will patiently and expertly guide you to an “appropriate” eating adventure. The already vast array of options, is fully further customizable. If, by chance, you don’t see what you want, ask for it. Regulars often order off-menu, and rarely look at one. Sam Woo rocks!
