The atmosphere is lovely - The cuisine is Amazing and the Service is WONDERFUL!

Simply put, the menu sounds better than it tastes. The food was good, but not great, and the price tag should put it much closer to great. Lots of good ideas, just executed in a rather bland manner. Perhaps it is just impossible to overcome the need to please a wide variety of diners when you are a hotel restaurant. Maybe it was just an off night. There was a lack of energy in the room and in the food. We felt like it was a dining mistake on our trip to LA.

My wife and I put ourselves in the hands of the restaurant (on a not busy Sunday night) by getting the tasting menu with the wines. The wine "course" alone was $45 each. The wines served were 4 small pours of the house wines (which were $9-11 purchased separately). The wines selected by the house were mediocre and certainly not up to the lofty aspirations of the cuisine. The food served was over the top creative, but one of the dishes was very poorly done; the "crispy halibut" was merely dry and overcooked. The dish was replaced, but should not have been served. Also, we were only charged for one wine tasting, but buyer beware on the wine. Buy a bottle or two for the price of the house selected wines, you will get a better quality and quantity.

Not a good experience for over what would have cost nearly $300 without the wine cost reduction.
