Pann's is such a fun place to go and it's one of my fave L.A. places to hang out and dine. I love their breakfast, tuna melt, and especially the beef brisket dinner which is only served on weekends. I usually get the sauteed spinach as a side with the mac and cheese which used to be one of my favorite sides, but they changed the recipe and it's not as good as it used to be. Bring back the old mac n cheese, please - it was super awesome! Love having their garlic bread or cornbread. Their dessert is good and gigantic - if you don't have room for it, take something home. During the holidays, I love, love, love the cranberry bread! Sock-it-to-me cake, carrot cake, and caramel bread pudding are some of my favorite desserts. Also, so many restaurants have gotten rid of real brewed iced tea for crappy machines that don't make real iced tea, not Pann's though, they still have awesome, real brewed iced tea which is always refreshing. The staff is super nice and many of them have been there for a long, long time. There is a counter to sit at when it is really busy (which is weekends) when you don't feel like waiting for a table. It has a crazy 50's decor they are famous for, which I love and has been in movies and commercials. Also, I love that the place is family owned and operated all of these years and the owner (who is no joke, like in her 90's) still comes around to say hello to all of the customers with a really big smile on her face, and I believe a guy who may be her son as well. They really care about the customers and are passionate about their restaurant. They are all very friendly and everyone seems to be very happy that works there as well. I enjoy dining there and it is really convenient to go to on the way to or from the airport and it is in a nice convenient location close to the 405, Centinela, La Tijera and not far from Sepulveda. It's also close to Culver City where there is a lot to do. You can also order to go and just come in and pickup if you're in a hurry, which I used to do when I went to college down the street and had night classes. I guess if you're staying in a hotel nearby and just want to get back to the room and have a rental, it would be convenient to grab some nice comfort food and head back to your hotel. Pann's is awesome and very reasonably priced. My bff and I have sat there often chatting forever without feeling like we are annoying or burdening the staff - and they always come around and check on you often and refill your drinks, very attentive. If you have never been to Pann's, it's high time you went! Btw, I think they have a smoking patio for all you nicotine fiends. They have also added a bunch of adult beverages, which I don't know if the drinks are any good, but I'm sure the price is great if you're trying to get your drink on the cheap before heading out on the town, I'm just sayin'!
