“Beautiful bar and rest, but poor menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

This is one great place in the middle of nothing better you can see around, location is awesome just near to Staples Center and Live LA. You must go there when you see the lightning trees outside, the elegance of the bar and people enjoying the terrace outside. When you come in is the same, good taste in decoration, polite service and a nice environment to have a romantic dinner or a business meeting. The only thing is a con was the expensive prices ($12 for a 6 glazed chicken wings) and the poor food options they have ( just like 10 plates and all coasting more that $15). But if you want to have a good time with a drink or beer in your hand, this is the right place.

“Great food and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

The Parish is a hot restaurant right now in Los Angeles, and with good reason. There is a great vibe in the space and it would be perfect for pre or post theatre as it's convenient to the Music Center.
Skip the fried chickpeas and go for the deviled eggs as a snack. The burger is enough for 4 to share along with 1 or two other mains. Maple glazed chicken wings were really messy but amazing. Great cocktail menu rounds out the experience and I will definitely go back!

Gastropub at its best.

“Interesting, but Loud”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

The food was good, but in the dim light, it was hard to read the menu that was styled for effect, not function. Unfortunately, in the evening on a week night, it was so loud from the bar, which looked like a hip singles scene, it was hard to hear my companions at the tables.

“Excellent gastropub experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Not only were the cocktails beautifully crafted, but the small and middle-sized plates were all delicious: deviled eggs, fried olives/garbanzo beans especially.

“Lunch Review: simple, quality, satisfying food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Located on Spring just above 7th, The Parish occupies a corner reminiscent of the Flatiron in NYC - but on a much smaller scale! This two storey building houses a simple bistro style cafe/lunch spot downstairs (with small outdoor patio) and a darker dinner restaurant and bar upstairs. The place has a great feel of being relatively off the tourist radar, and the simple lunch fare (small menu) fully satisfied. Visiting on a Sunday afternoon, we tried the tomato soup - an excellent home made soup with great flavours - and their grilled cheese sandwich - again excellent prepared with flavourful cheeses, tomato & rocket lettuce inside, and crispy parmesan toasted onto the grilled outside. Beers on tap include a great selection of SoCal based micro breweries. The kitchen boasted a wood fired grill and the upstairs bar and dining area beckoned for a returned visit to the speakeasy vibe it generated.
