We stayed at the hollywood hills hotel after I kept hearing about Magic Castle and knew I had to check it out. From the moment we arrived we loved it. The staff was nice, friendly, and professional. They offer free snacks and soda! The hotel is up on a hill and provides beautiful views from your own balcony. It's a 5 minute walk to Hollywood Blvd. As mentioned there's a shuttle to take you up, and it seems to always be available at a seconds notice. Granted, if you're looking to stay in a luxury hotel, this isn't it. But my room was clean, large, had amazing views, and the staff was spectacular. That coupled with the location definitely made this hotel perfect.

The hotel is located up in the hills, next to the Yamashiro restaurant, offering breathtaking views of the city. For those who are reluctant to walking up the hill, the staff provides free shuttle service to the rooms, which are in fact bungalows/apartments. The room we had, although functional, was dated and definitely not well-maintained. There were stains on the wall and carpet. The whole place needs a renovation, and thorough cleaning habits. We also did find a few ants in the apartment during our stay, as noted by other travellers.

The staff was curteous and professional.

Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but this place has the potential to be so much better.

My brother and I stayed up in the Hollywood Hills for a week in October and it was great! Yeah the rooms were dated but the view was breathtaking - you could see all of LA from up there!
The price was exceptional and the facilities at the hotel great! The complimentary breakfast, snacks and wifi were appreciated!
The staff were so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make you feel welcome.
This hotel is in a great location, a block away from Hollywood Boulevard and a short cab ride to West Hollywood. WeHo was great spent a lot of time there! I really enjoyed our stay and will definately stay there again!

We stayed for 4 nights up on the Hill, room 301. We had a fantastic time here, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and the staff were amazing, really super helpful and polite and happy. The pool on the hill is great, we spent a few days lazing by the pool and were pretty much the only people using it. The views from the top of the hill, from the apartment and the pool are nothing short of spectacular. The rooms may be a tiny bit tired, and could do with a paint, but we didn't care about that at all. The location is perfect, a 5 minute walk from reception to Hollywood Boulevard. This place has two hotels, the Hollywood Hills Hotel, up the hill, and down the bottom of the hill The Magic Castle Hotel. If you want spectacular views and an awesome pool then head up the top. We can't recommend this place highly enough, we'll be back.
