“Wonderful meal at great price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

Located in LA's Old Bank District, this place is worth visiting for its service and flavors. Being in LA, you will never get wrong with this one. I had a second time visit here during my 4 days holiday and this time too was satisfied. Tasted the crispy chicken flatbread with warm sprout salad. It was amazing and a must have here. I even tasted rose sangria for the first time and it was delicious. For sweet I will recommend the rice pudding. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and the price, not at all expensive. For the food and a wide selection of wines you will not regret paying extra euros even. But make sure to reserve your table in advance to avoid any kind of chaos. Go and enjoy a wholesome meal.

“Worth the hype”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

After hearing so much about Baco Mercat, I had high expectations. Usually places are over-hyped and I leave disappointed, but man, Baco Mercat really did hit it on the nail. It was worth the hype. I had a tough day at work so I started with the nutty nut or something like that (vodka based). It was absolutely delicious - not too sweet and just the right amount of tang. As for the food, everything we had was delicious. To be honest, all were favorites and they included: caramelized cauliflower, roased broccolini, blistered okra, brussels sprouts, hamachi crudo, braised lamb neck, the original baco, and the el pesco baco. Seriously, everything I ate that night was a flavorbomb.

“Unusual and highly succesful combinations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

It is located in a transitioning part of downtown LA. The ambiance is different, but the service is good and the food is excellent. I would describe the food as almost tapas in style with a combination of flavors and presentation that is unusual but almost entirely successful. One of the unique restaurants in LA.

“Foodie fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

I was brought here on a surprise for my birthday and what a great surprise! EVERYTHING was fantastic - service, cocktails and food was well worth the hour drive.

Anchovy with honey appetizer - YUM! Blistered okra - YUMMY! Veal and sweet breads - Soooo Good! Pistachio cheesecake - OMG! I can't recall exacty what the cocktails were, but they just asked what kind of alcohol I liked and came back with something wonderful!

Loved all of it and I can't wait to go back!

“Food good. Service, ambience okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013 via mobile

Lunch on a whim. Nice selection. Really liked their scrambles. No bread with eggs odd and suggestion to buy unwanted appetizer to get bread even more so. Noisy, small section on street outside.
