When we go on holiday, one of the most important things for us is the location - this hotel is great!
Used 'Supershuttle' to get from the airport [nice and cheap] and was very impressed with hotel as soon as we stepped inside.
Check-in was fast and room was fab! Had asked for a high-floor room having read previous reviews and one with a view of the Hollywood Sign. Got both requests.
Only thing we didn't get which we had asked for prior to arrival was an in-roon fridge. I'm sure if I had chased it up, it would have come, but didn't actually need it anyway.
Location is great. Walk through precinct and right next to Graumann's Chinese Theatre. This is where lots of coach trips leave from.
Really close to the subway too. I was a little worried about travelling on this, but it was great. Only one stop away from Universal and cheap.
Hopped on a bus from outside the subway station too and went all the way to Venice Beach. Its a fair journey, changing bus once, but very cheap and easy. We asked at the Tourist Info point by the precinct and they were very helpful. Day pass cost £5 each.
Definately recommend this hotel.

Arrived at this hotel exhausted after a huge flight and extra long transfer to be greeted by very friendly staff on reception who upgraded us to a suite. Room was amazing, absolutely huge, 13th floor with spectacular views across LA. Location was also spot on. You couldn't be any closer to the walk of fame and the shuttle to Universal Studios is practically on the doorstep along with loads of shops and eateries! Concierge are really helpful. Pool is small but nice and you can see the Hollywood sign whilst you sun bathe!

We were delighted with our two rooms on the Club Level of this hotel. The Club Room offers a good free breakfast and copious snacks and goodies at happy hour, in addition to a light array of desserts later. Quite a good value, making it well worth the extra cost of these club level rooms.
The room decor was fun and fresh with a sort of "Jetsons Go Hollywood" feel which we liked a lot.
The hotel adjoins a shopping mall with movie theater, the Kodak Academy Awards theater (we took the tour and loved it!) and many places to eat. Our best meal of our whole California vacation was right there in the mall at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant "Vert" -- sublime food and not even all that expensive for what it was. We paid more elsewhere for much less interesting offerings.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to this location on a future trip.

  • Liked — location in the heart of Hollywood, lively mall next door
  • Disliked — high-priced valet parking

Stayed for 4 nights 23rd July 2007.We are a family of four with two children 10 and 6 years. This is a brilliant hotel. The location is excellent and the view from our room on the 15th floor was breathtaking. The Mall underneath the hotel is perfect for eating and shopping. You could not be any closer to where the stars all left their mark on the walk of fame.As for the hotel, the staff were very welcoming and polite. The swimming pool is excellent for a cooling dip in the LA heat. Also the views aren't bad!! Stay here if you are stopping in LA for any time whatsoever, whether for one night or a week..
Eat your breakfast at Johnny Rockets in the shopping mall. There is a great diner over the road from Hollywood boulevard called 'Mels Diner' eat there, fully recommended. Also do the starlines tour of the celebrity homes..Brilliant.All in all we stayed 4 nights and were able to visit Santa Monica, Rodeo Drive and we drove to the Malibu beach areas.A dream stay to start our holiday.

The saddest part was that I stayed here only for one night! I would love to return again and stay for a longer period. We were a family and had booked 2 rooms. Being a platinum elite card holder, I was upgraded to an executive suite with a king bed and a connecting room with 2 double beds and had access to the club lounge. Valet parking was good albeit a bit pricey at 29 bucks. Check in was like a breeze and my kids leapt with joy when they drew the blinds of the room and saw the magnificent view of Hollywood hills in front of them. You could literally spend the entire day gazing out at the view. The rooms were spacious and well decorated. For that matter the suite is not a 2 room suite as would be expected but rather its a large room with a seating area. The bathroom was huge and had a large dressing room as well. The lounge was fine but not as well equipped as I expected it - there were no constant soft drinks available as such. At 5 pm the cocktails and hot snacks were placed and in the morning a reasonable breakfast of continental fare with 1-2 hot items were placed. Location is par excellence and lots of shops and restaurants are nearby. Not to forget that you walk into the Chinese Theater and Kodak theater next door. Overall its a lovely property and very well maintained in every aspect.. The staff are great too and I would definitely return to this place again were I to visit LA.
