This hotel was in an exceptional good location for our family vacation stop in Hollywood. Located very close to Grauman's theater, walk of stars, etc. Also connected to outstanding shopping mall with good restaurant choices. Above all, the service was exceptional.

we came all the way from australia to see disneyland. Our first few days were in hollywood. What a dirty trashy place! The hotel ok but nothing to write home about. Stayed in much better for alot less money in australia. Smallish room and bathroom. Had the sight of hollywood sign but so what. The whole complex was nice however as soon as you hit the walk of fame it turns dirty. I would not have liked to walk around with my kids at night , luckly we were all in bed. The wax museum ripleys etc were all average. I love the movie stars tour and universal studios. There must be better places around to stay.

This hotel is in the perfect location (taxi from lax will cost between 50-80 dollars depending on traffic). Hotel is right on hollywood boulevard and next to the kodak and chinese theatres.Opposite and down the road about 300m is ripleys believe it or not and hollwoods guiness book of records. The hotel is also joined to a shopping centre called hollywood and highland which has a number of shops including restaurants and fast food places.Sunset boulevard and rodeo drive are close by too.
The rooms are a good standard, modern but not the decor described on the website. Some rooms have a view of the hollywood sign. Breakfast buffet definately worth the money.
Would recommend the famous peoples house tour by starline (outside chinese theatre), you get too see lots of great houses and also good to take you through beverly hills,bel air and hollywood hills

My son and I traveled together and wanted to be in the center of Hollywood even though we are not really big celebrity watchers. This really fit the bill. All of the sights of Hollywood are right outside the hotel, and many big name celebrities frequent this hotel. With a little prodding, we could have stayed much longer. The pool is fantastic, super views, but many locals try to crash the party, and security has to clear them out. I did not find the hotel's restaurant worthwhile for the exorbitant price with so many alternatives at the mall nearby. You need a car in LA, without a doubt, and the self park for $10 was really a bargain. San Francisco parking is three or four times the price easily.

My only complaint--we were promised a room overlooking the Hollywood sign, and that promise was never delivered, but our view of the El Capitan theatre with its nightly premieres was probably better anyway. I learned that the Hollywood sign is not lit up at night.

So, a definite thumbs up for this celebrity mecca Renaissance hotel, a definite cut above and I will definitely be back again!
