“Good Location, A little bit pricey. Noisy works in Lobby”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

I have mixed feelings towards this hotel. It was getting building work done in the lobby area when I arrived and the building noises as you moved through were ear shattering. The reception desk as such had moved up a few floors but you can enter that level via the Staples center directly from next door.

We parked in the Staples Center which was significantly cheaper than the valet parking so keep that in mind. The room when we got to it was great. The bed was actually one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, possibly in my life. The room was huge, with couches etc and a great TV. Safe was a little bit small in the wardrobe.

The bathroom had an unusual layout. The first bathroom door brings you in to a carpeted sink area with a makeup table. Through a follow on door you reach the shower/toilet.
I checked out a bit early and we still got queues but the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful.

The location of this hotel is fantastic for touring Hollywood as its a great central base.

Considering the cost, I seriously have to way up my options of staying here again. The only thing that would really swing it for me would be the comfy bed.

Room Tip: High floor facing Hollywood sign.

Enjoyed a stay at Loews for a conference. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds. I had a nice view of the Hollywood Hills. Staff was friendly. Parts of the hotel are under renovation. Great location to walk out of the hotel into the heart of Hollywood.

Visited this hotel 3 weeks ago....greeted by friendly staff at the desk. ...decided to share a room with 3 other friends...probably not such a good idea as the rooms are average size! and the beds are nowhere near double! I have previously stayed in hotels in various locations in the States and the beds have been bigger. Having said that, room was clean and nicely arranged. We did have to continuously ring down for more towels and pillows etc. You would think that they would be aware that there is 4 of us in one room and therefore we will need alot more then 2 towels! After asking the staff to maybe get a bigger room, as we were not expecting the conditions to be so "cramped" the lady couldn't help us so instead offered 'free wifi' in our room. Now initially i thought this was a bonus and that you needed to pay for this in your room, but having read the guest manual it actually stated that WiFi is free! ...now as you can imagine, i wasn't best pleased with this. Being tricked into believing the hotel were doing me a favour, when in fact its free anyway. Having said that, beds are comfy, and the renovation work makes the hotel look very un-tidy. You have to pay extra for Sauna/steam room and the pool could do with being a little bigger.
Concierge team are brilliant! in particular Chris and Verity. They will give you the best places to visit. Chris recommended to do a horseback ride in the hollywood hills and i can honestly say that this was the most amazing experience in L.A! would recommend this to anyone visiting!
There is an amazing view of the "hollywood sign" from the hotel. To get the best pics, i would advise walking towards the shopping centre below and walking back up to the bridge. For security purposes you are only allowed to go a couple of floors up in that area and security will not allow you to go right to the 3rd floor (where you would get an even better pic with the sign in the background)
Walk of fame is just outside the hotel...with plenty of shopping and eating places. Would recommend 'Mel's diner' which is 5 min walk from the hotel and "I-Hop", which is about 10 mins walk from hotel. Two of the best breakfast places that do the best pancakes in Hollywood!
The shopping centre is right under the hotel. very convenient and plenty of Bus tours going on across the road. Jimmy Kimmel studio right across the road too. If you queue up nice and early you may get given tickets to be in the audience.

Overall location is perfect! service can be improved in certain areas and the hotel once renovated i am sure will look much better then it was when i was there. But then you have to think about how much time you would actually spend in your rooms? If location is more important to you, then this is the hotel for you as you wont be spending that much time in your room like me.....but if you love spending your time in the hotel and using all the facilities then i would suggest going elsewhere.

Fantastic hotel, central to Hollywood and all attractions. Staff were very accommodating even though we turned up at 11am way before the check in time of 3pm. Although there were renovations going on at the hotel that did change our view of the hotel. The updated rooms were great. Massive bathroom, and excellent water pressure unlike some other hotels...We had just come from the Hilton Miami Downtown and this hotel was much better than that. Free Wi-fi was a bonus and seemed to work all around the hotel. By far this hotel was great value for the price... do yourself a favour and stay here... we had stayed at the hollywood celebrity on previous occasion and Loews was certainly worth the small extra cost.

Loews Hollywood Hotel was a perfect choice for convenience, cleanliness and overall ambience in LA.
It was only by chance that I chose this hotel, and I'm so glad I did.
The location is awesome- safe, choices for dining at your doorstep, staff are lovely and price is fantastic.
Rooms are beautiful and clean.
I couldn't have asked for more.
I will DEFINITELY be staying at Loews again.

The hotel is located at probably the best location in Hollywood. Highland Ave. & Hollywood Blvd.

Pretty much inside a big mall, packed of restaurants, stores, etc...

We arrived late in the night, and had a surprise. The hotel is going thru a huge renovation. There was no lobby. 90% of the lobby was closed, and they had a improvised lobby on the back corner of the hotel.

The room was nice. Clean, good size, nice view, smelling weed everywhere. I guess you can't ask to much when you are in Hollywood.

The breakfast was ok. The buffet didn't have a lot of options, but you also have the option to order from the menu, which is expensive, but at least you have the choice.

Down side: there's no 24 hours room service and no mini-bar in the room! Really unacceptable nowadays, even more in a hotel like this one.

Warning: the valet is extremely expensive! Try to self-park in the parking lot.

Room Tip: Ask for the HOLLYWOOD SIGN view. Better than the "city view".

My recent stay was short as I was attending a conference held @ the hotel. Each employee I encountered was friendly, informed & engaging. The location was very convenient for those like myself who had little time for sight seeing, all that is Hollywood was steps away. Growing pains of construction were evident but not an inconvinence. Internet connection still appears to be a charged service which it is not, crazy that they haven't remedied that glitch by now. To address transport from LAX - several from our meeting took taxis that charged any where from $60-80 which is off base from the hotels estimate of $50. From the airport I took the FlyAway bus (comes to each terminal every 30 min./luxuary coach) which was $7 (pay when you get off at Union Station, credit only, no cash).I ventured down several levels(with luggage) to the Metro Red line.Next purchase a TAP card from the machine ($2) then load with a minimum one day pass, couple bucks. Like traveling the Metros in Europe. Getting off @the Highland/Hollywood stop. Exit left & the hotel is right around the corner(left). My return to LAX, SuperShuttle service was $15.00 one way booked by the concierge, be prepared for mulitple stops to reach you destination though.
