“Great Location in Hollywood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

This hotel is like an oasis in the middle of Hollywood. You can step right outside into all the sights and craziness of Hollywood, but quickly slip back into this lovely hotel if you got tired of everything. It's has a modern decor which makes it very sleek. We were on the 18th floor in a JR. Suite which was very large. My husband and I had a super comfortable king bed and our teenage (17) daughter used the pull out sofa (not so comfortable). Even with the sofa bed pulled out there was still a ton of room. We could have actually had a roll-away bed brought in and still have plenty of room if our other child was with us. The bathroom was a great set up. The shower and toilet where in their own room and there was an attached dressing area with a huge counter/sink and dressing table. I really liked that. The wall to wall windows gave a great view over the pool, The Dolby Theater, Grauman's Chinese Theater and The Walk of Fame. Service at the hotel was very good and they had a nice little bar and Starbuck's in the lobby. They had a mini-bar in the room, but be careful. It is all on a sensor, so if you take anything out it automatically charges it to your room. We did use it and I was so surprised that at check out it knew exactly what type of drink was taken out of the bar. They do leave you four spaces for your own drinks, but don't take anything out if you need more than four spaces since you will be charged for it. Over all it is a great place and comfortable place to stay. You can't beat the location.

Room Tip: Higher is better. Very Quite on the upper floors.

I came to this hotel for a conference Mar 22-23rd and extended my stay in Hollywood until the 26th. We came early before check in time and the intial luxury room king bed was not ready and front desk offered a cityview with luxury two double beds instead. Lobby did offer guests complementary lemonade or lemon water which was very refreshing.

Our room; 731 on the 7th floor faced east on N Highland Ave (if my directions are correct) had the city view of the hollywood hills to the left but a better view of TV guide network building. I noticed immediately that there was an ajoining door to the next room. I think this would work great if you are staying with extended or big families or friends.

The room was nice and spacious for myself and my husband. Some wear and tear noted on the carpet and walls. Bathroom was nice minus some mildew on the floor. The hairdryer bag, I noticed some hairs from previous hotel guests. Not too sure, if cleaning staff clean the bag or would it be best to not use hairdryer bags?! Checked the beds and no stains noted for bed bugs. Depending on what type of sleeper you are the pillows were not at all firm, but very fluffy. I prefer firm pillows so I am a bit bias on this point. The room refridgerator was nice to keep our water cool.

The only disappointment I had with the room was that I was able to hear my neighbour's television and even their conversation in the early morning for requesting room service for breakfast also, I don't think the doors are sound proof as I heard hotel guests and elevator bells throughout the night and day. I don't think the hotel can do much with the walls and doors other than a complete overhaul renovation.

Lounged on the 5th floor pool and deck area. Plenty of chairs and clean towels. The hotel did offer a gym/fitness area but we did not have time to use it. Nor did we get a chance to eat at Preston's or their lounge bar.

Great location to major attractions such as the Chinese Grauman theatre, Ray Dolby Theatre, across from the El Capitan theatre, Madame Tassaud, Ripley's believe it or not, Hollywood & Highland shopping center and close to the Hollywood Bowl. Conciege was helpful when asking questions pertaining to car rentals and transportation to the airport.

Great thing about this hotel was that there was a Hertz car rental office located in the hotel and when in LA you definitely need a car to visit other hot spots like Robertson Blvd/Beverly Hills/Rodeo drive or Topanga canyon. I would recommend to reserve a car as you may not be able to rent the car you wish to get. We also used the LA Metro subway system as one of their station was right beside the hotel and if you are interested in visiting other parts of LA, this is one cheap and easy method to use.

Overall a good hotel for conferences or families.

Room Tip: if wishing to get the Hollywood sign view please ask for it.

This hotel has a great location just behind the heart of Hollywood, 2 minute walk from the Chinese theatre.
The hotel is very clean and has a modern look you got to love.
Cons: Like every place in LA they charge you for parking. 13$ for an all-day stay (that once you take your car out - you need to re-pay), or 38$ for an all-day come-in come-out as much as you want.
They also tried to charge us 13$ Wi-Fi per device. After talking with the front desk, we got it complimentary after joining the Loews club or something. Works for me!

Room Tip: Join the Loews mailing list for free Wi-Fi.

Great location, very clean and slept great! They are a family and pet friendly hotel. Only hiccup was at the end when the bellhops tag teamed us for tips and someone charged our room for valet service. If you don't mind walking, the self parking is the best deal, especially if you buy something in the Hollywood & Highland Center making parking a little cheaper. Views are great as well.

Spent 1 night at Loew's in Hollywood yesterday. A really great hotel. Very relaxed inside but within 0.5 block of the craziness around The Chinese Theatre. The hotel is attached to a mall (which means cheap overnight parking for a city hotel) and the mall includes great food options.

Breakfast at Preston's was tasty and fresh with the lady chef making great omelets and waffles to order.

The pool area isn't huge, but nicely laid out, very clean and very relaxing.

Rooms were extremely clean and fresh. I was really impressed that our request for a quiet room was taken seriously and we were placed at the end of a corridor pointing away from the busy street.

Many thanks for a great stay. Only sad thing is we don't know when we'll be back.

Right behind the Dolby Theater, one block from Hollywood Blvd, this hotel was formerly known as the Renaissance. It is a throwback to the old days of Hollywood, where many stars stayed. Construction is 50's style and is still undergoing some remodeling following the change in ownership. But generally, our stay was quite comfortable, AND its best feature is - LOCATION.
Next to the Dolby is the famous Grumman's Chinese Theater with the stars' footprints and signatures in the sidewalk. Then of course, looking for your favorite celebrities' stars along the blvd. is a fun pastime. A Ripley's Believe It or Not is across the street. The mall, with 3 levels of stores, restaurants and shops, has a convenient connecting walkway to the hotel. The subway entrance right on the corner of Hollywood Blvd. will take you to Universal Studios in 2 stops! Don't bother going by cab. (Universal has a free trolley that will take you up the hill, across the street from the subway stop)
If you drive, aggressive car hops will want to park your car. DON'T bother, unless you want to impress people by wanting to pay $30 a day for the valet service, when you can park in the same mall lot for $10/day.
A Four Seasons it is not, but it IS a pleasant, convenient place to stay. We booked under one of the discount sites, which turned out to be a very good deal.

Room Tip: If you like morning light, chose the East side. Otherwise, go West.

Great hotel! We only stayed on night but I have only great things to say about this hotel. The door men, the desk clerk, etc. The room was clean and comfortable. This hotel is within minutes of walking to awesome shopping, restaurants and sights! Walk of fame is maybe a five minute walk, tops. Also, no hassles whatsoever when we asked the front desk for a late check out!!
Highly recommend. We were able to get a great rate of $125 on this hotel!
