I stayed at this Hotel with my family and it was just perfect. Very good location with spacious room. The concierge was very attentive and kind as the rest of the personnel.
It is also clean, with a very fast room service.
I recommed it.

This hotel is in a great location. By car it is very easy to get in and out of. However, the price for parking or valet is a bit ridiculous, but I guess that is normal for LA. The hotel interior decorations are a bit modern for my taste but it is still very nice and clean. The front desk staff look and act like high school kids but they were nice and friendly and fairly efficient with the check in process.
The hotel pricing is a tad expensive but you are paying for the location (and the nicest hotel in the area). The room was nice and clean with ultra-modern furnishings. The bed was very comfortable and the Internet access was easy.
I did not use the bar in the lobby but it looked nice.
The restaurant on the second floor had good food. Do not miss the breakfast buffet. Make sure to try the lemon pancakes.
There is a fairly nice mall attached to the hotel that you can walk through to get to Hollywood Blvd.
I picked this hotel because of its close proximity to the Magic Castle on Franklin. It was very easy for me and my wife to walk there for dinner and come back very late in the evening.
Overall, I would stay there again because of the location.
This was my second stay at the Renaissance and it was just wonderful. Being able to stroll Hollywood Boulevard within ten minutes of leaving your room is definitely worth the higher price you would pay staying somewhere else. We swam in the pool, shopped in the mall the hotel is attached to, saw the movie "Enchanted" at Disney's El Capitan Theatre just across the street and had a great time.
We only paid around $129 - it must have been a really slow night because it's usually between $200-$300. They really nail you with overnight valet parking of around $30 but the only other options are public lots around Hollywood which are less expensive but less secure.
The Roosevelt Hotel down the street is making a name for itself as a place the paparazzi hang out looking for people to photograph people like Paris Hilton. It's a fine place to have a drink but it's dark and dismal compared to the Renaissance.
My wife and i, have just returned from a west coast tour of the USA. Los Angeles was our first stop, were we stayed at the renaissance. The hotel was excellent,we encountered no problems at all during our stay. The room was very clean and spacious,on a high floor with a nice view as requested. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of hollywood. All the attractions are close by,and easy to get too! We went to universal studios on our first day, which was fantastic. The second day we had a 6 hour tour of LA,very informative and took us to all the relevant areas. The only disappointing thing, was that we only had a three night stay before going on to Las vegas. A lot of people told me not to go to LA,hence the short stay. I am sorry i listened to them, maybe they stayed downtown! The concierge was helpful, and the breakfasts were great. All in all, i would recommend LA and the Renaissance. We had a great time, and just sorry we did not stay for longer. I have not commented on pool area,as we went in the winter! It did look a little small,i think this hotel is better if you like to sight see(rather than sun bathe).
This is the best location I've seen in Hollywood. It is attached to the Hollywood and Highland center and Grauman's Chinese Theater. It was wonderful to be able to walk outside and see the celebrity hand and footprints. The subway station is also very close and we used that to get around Hollywood. We visited Universal Studios without having to pay for parking and we went to Union Station and China town all by the subway and train transportation. I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Hollywood for the first time. Request a room with a view of the Hollywood sign on a higher floor and you won't be disappointed! Our room had huge windows with a splendid view of the city and the Hollywood sign. The hotel staff were also very friendly and happy to honor each of our requests. The hotel pool area was under construction when we went as they were adding a spa to the hotel. We didn't have any problems with noise or dust though. Wonderful hotel!!
