“Great for budget travel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014

This place was great! We stayed here for 4 nights, I would definitely recommend it to others. Cheap room ($65 for two of us), clean, private, and comfortable. The bathrooms are shared but we never had an issue trying to get into one. Free water bottles, mini fridge, coffee, comfy bed, and even a bag of microwavable popcorn! It's obviously not luxurious (it is a hostel) but wayyy better than any traditional hostel. I'd definitely stay there again!

A friend of mine stayed in there a year before and was very pleased with it, and so am I. Room is small and it is completely automated, I saw no staff there at all. Room is very nice and modern, I highly recommend it, particularily for price/quality ratio.

Stayed here while touring So Cal colleges with my dtr. Simple, clean, convenience. Single rooms with a dbl bed, linens and towel, desk, storage unit, safe and small refrigerator. Free coffee and tea, microwave in the lobby, bottle of water every day. Quiet setting and room; pristine bathrooms equipped with all-purpose liquid body wash/shampoo; never had to wait to use. We never saw a host the few nights we stayed and there wasn't a social culture or coordinated activities that some hostels enjoy. Small pkg lot in front; free street pkg in the neighborhood; near public trans and easy walking to a few neighborhood ethnic eateries. My only recommendation is to bring a pillow; we found the pre-formed, wave shaped, rubber pillow very uncomfortable.

Room Tip: Bring your own pillow and hair conditioner.

It is not likely what you picture when you think "hostel". Everything feels new, clean, secure, comfortable - free coffee and tea, private rooms with safes, flat screens, double beds and desks in each room. You get a fresh bottle of water every morning and the bathrooms are large and pristine. The price and location are amazing and the owner Bo couldn't be nicer or more helpful. It's kind of hilarious how nasty a motel room in the center of the city at this same price point would be in comparison. I've stayed here three times now over the last year and a half, for a week each time (both for work and vacation and two of the three times with my spouse) and it'll definitely remain my lodging of choice while in LA.

We stayed for 3 nights in January, and found the whole experience to be pleasant. Our access codes were emailed to us in advance and we had no problems with them. Our room was big enough for 2 suitcases to be out and packed in. The bathroom facilities were clean and spacious. My only suggestion is that there should be a vacant or in use signal on the door so that you dont have to jiggle the handle to find out if it is being used - this is a little frightening if you are the person in there using the shower in your birthday suit! We had absolutely no problems with any noise whatsoever, and enjoyed our stay. Thanks Bo!
