“Spend a day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We made the mistake of going to the Getty during Spring Break. Not only were there kids with parents, but there were kids with teachers! This was my first visit to the Getty so I was concerned we would be over run with noise. No problem...This place is so large, and there is so much to see that there is room for everyone! It was a beautiful spring day so I wanted to make sure I visited the sprawling gardens. So many ideas to take home. The grounds are perfect. It's nice to see permeable soil instead of paths of cement. There are benches to sit and enjoy the smaller treats, like bees climbing into purple bells, or the grand view of downtown Los Angeles. I recommend you pack a picnic. We ate in the cafeteria, which had a generous variety, but I would have much rather brought some munchies and enjoy the grassy knolls. And the museums! We only visited two of the five. Not only are there plenty to look at, there is so much to read about each display. I stopped and read everything (poor hubby). You only pay for parking so this is a bargain for groups or families.

“Grounds are artistic as well.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Amazing art, grounds, buildings. A bit of a yuppified snob factor in the air, but this is Los Angeles after all. And the patrons are artistes.

“This is #1 for a reason”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

I have been to galleries and museums across Europe, the US and beyond. The Getty is the best. The buildings are a work of art, the restaurant has fabulous food and a view on clear days. The collections are enormous. Their Impressionist collection is a favorite.

“ALWAYS A TREAT FOR THE EYES AND SOUL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

I love going to this museum anytime I'm in California. It's beauty - the location is wonderful - parking is good - but just being with all the beautiful artwork is worth the trip to go. Be prepared to spend some time walking around and wear comfortable shoes. This attraction has been enjoyed by many for years, and hopefully for years to come.

“Hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013 via mobile

Great little art museum with gorgeous architecture and awesome views of the city. Also, the cafe has great food! You pay to park but there's no entrance fee. The actual exhibits were just ok but we had a great time just handing out enjoying the views.
